JACQULYNE VENDITTI NAMED TO ALL NEW YORK STATE ACADEMIC TEAM Jacqulyne Venditti of Troy, a member of the Hudson Valley Community College student body, was named to the All New York State Community College Academic Team recently. Nominees for the honor must demonstrate academic excellence and notable service to the college and community. Those who are named to the All-State Academic Team are eligible for scholarships at transfer colleges and universities. Venditti is studying Nursing at the Troy, NY college. The All New York State Community College Academic Team is chosen by Phi Theta Kappa, an international academic honor society for students in two-year colleges. Venditti is a member of the Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Hudson Valley. PTK recognizes and encourages scholarship among twoyear college students.

WINSLOW CRANE-MURDOCH EARNS HONORS AT CONNECTICUT COLLEGE Winslow Crane-Murdoch, a member of the class of 2013 at Connecticut College and a resident of Cropseyville, has been named to the Dean’s Honors list for the 2012 fall semester. At Connecticut College, Dean’s Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.65, and Dean’s High Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.78.

LOCAL RESIDENTS NAMED TO DEAN’S LIST AT GROVE CITY COLLEGE The following area residents were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester at Grove City College. Benjamin Nasman, a freshman Mechanical Engineering major has been named to the Dean’s List. Benjamin is a 2012 graduate of Averill Park High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nasman (Linda) from Averill Park. Ryan Witherell, a senior Computer Science major has been named to the Dean’s List. Ryan is a 2009 graduate of Homeschooled and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Witherell (Christa) from Wynantskill. Students eligible for the Dean’s List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean’s List with Distinction a GPA of 3.6 to 3.84 and for the Dean’s List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.00.
