Educating the whole child is central to our ethos at Cranleigh We give equal importance to the Academic, Pastoral and Co-Curricular aspects of school life This holistic approach to education is not just an add-on; it is our strong belief that learning also takes place beyond the confines of the classroom. The aim of the co-curricular activity (CCA) programme is to provide additional activities to cater for a wide range of interests In turn, the programme will create healthy, confident, creative, socially adept and culturally aware individuals

SOCS
CCA sign-ups are completed on SOCS. Please ensure you are familiar with this system and more information can be found on the here. We use a preferential system which enables you to add your second and third choices. The ‘selection’ process for all CCAs is not first come, first served. Therefore, when you select an activity you are not automatically registered. Allocations are completed by the CoCurricular team. If your child has already been registered for an invite only CCA and you do not want them to attend, please email cca@cranleigh.ae
Recommendations
We suggest the following number of CCAs are undertaken per week:
Year 3 - The transition into Prep School and the longer school day may be challenging for some pupils and therefore we encourage participation in 1 CCAs per week.
Year 4 - The pupils transitioning from Year 3 may need a term to adjust to the new subjects and changes and therefore we encourage pupils to participate in 2 CCAs per week
Year 5 - The pupils transitioning from Y4 may need a term to adjust to the new subjects and changes Therefore, we recommend between 2 and 3 CCAs per week.
Year 6 - Year 8 To enable pupils to develop a good range of skills through a variety of activities we encourage pupils to participate in 3 CCAs per week.

Additional Information: Engineers Workshops - Engineering workshops are lead by engineers from different fields. The students will build an engineering-based project by going through the entire process from understanding a concept, designing and using different tools to execute their work The workshops will help students improve many of their skills such as critical thinking, and problem-solving as well as learning more about the different fields of engineering.
Coding and Robotics Workshops - The classes help the students understand the logistics behind coding, learn different programming languages and solve real-life problems using modern tech all in one place. They will also get to use microcontrollers such as Arduino controllers to upload their codes and test them. As they progress, the students will start to incorporate different sensors and build more advanced projects
