Calendar& Contact Info

Dear KEY CLUBBERS, I hope everyone who attended Fall Rally had an amazing time! I personally had the best FRS I’ve ever been too, and despite us not winning the spirit stick this year, I was very proud of all of your spirit that you all showed at the rally! Being one of the spirit leaders for the Rally was really humbling because I was able to look into each of your enthusiastic faces, and it just reminded me why I joined such a wonderful club- to change the community, to better leaders, and to make huge, beneficial impacts on each other’s lives. I’d like to personally thank every single one of you for making this my best FRS yet. Now with that said, I hope that all of you continue to participate in this life-changing club despite the fact that RTC and Fall Rally are over. Remember that Key Club is first and foremost a service organization, and it’s our duty to serve other around us at our weekly events. Key Club is far bigger than just those two events; rather, Key Club encompasses all service throughout the entire school year, so get to it, keep up your dedication, and work hard!

November Babysitting For SDD When: Monday, November 4th Time: 7:45 AM – 2:45 PM Where: Coronado High School I attended three babysitting events all held at Coronado High School. The Open House Babysitting was held on October 2, 2013. The Staff Development Day Babysitting was held on October 24 and the other was held on November 4. Key Club members had that chance to babysit the teachers’ sons and daughters while they did their work at school. I think it was a great experience being able to interact with kids of different ages and seeing each one of their interests. We got to do arts and crafts such as finger painting and mask making. We also played in the gym which showed the kids’ favorite sports. We met children who were from 1-10 years old. I even got to meet some of my own teachers’ daughters and sons. I very much enjoyed the experience to help fund the various projects of our Key Club. In other words, it was a nice way to start off my term as Freshman Rep!

-Rosie Dumo, Coronado KC Freshman Representative

Freshman Representative! Say hello to Coronado Key Club’s new Freshman Representative, Rosie Dumo! Rosie spoke very well during her speech and her interview, as well as proving to the board why she deserves to have the position. She had many new ideas on fundraising and event opportunities. The Freshman Representative is responsible for connecting the comments of the freshman class to the board in order to help make our club an even better one! Congratulations to Rosie, and great job to all of the candidates! In just a couple months, all positions will be open to running, so stay spirited until then!

Fall Rally South FRS 2013 WHEN: November 9th WHERE: Six Flags California WHAT: -Meet with tons of other KEY CLUBBERS from our own Las Vegas divisions as well as the California divisions! -Raise money to ELIMINATE PTP by buying an LTG at the auction! -Show your spirit and cheer as loud as you can at the SPIRIT RALLY. -An UNFORGETTABLE event full of memorable experiences -A chance to make lifelong FRIENDSHIPS

Fall Rally 2013 did not disappoint my expectations this year. I loved the emotion of meeting Key Clubbers across the district, having the ability to share each other’s love for Key Club. Fall Rally was always the event that gave me realization how large Key Club actually is. Division 28 South definitely showed their spirit and love for service and Key Club during the rally. I love my Pandas! I will surely miss attending Fall Rally and will never forget those experiences.

-Calvin Kleber,

FRS Spirit Leader

My Fall Rally South experience this year was by far the best FRS I’ve been to yet! It was very humbling to work with Andriyah and Calvin as the division spirit chairs, and although we didn’t win, I’m very proud of my division for all their spirit, enthusiasm, and love for Key Club. After the rally my day went absolutely perfect as I was able to meet Key Clubbers from all over California as well as get the chance to hang out with my friends in the other Las Vegas divisions. I honestly cannot wait until next year’s Fall Rally and relive this amazing experience.

FRS Spirit Leader

November Coronado KC Social When: November 16th Time: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM Where: Sunset Park On Saturday, November 16th I attended our club social to be held at Sunset Park in the early afternoon. The weather was perfect for a potluck/picnic outside at a nice and quiet park. I still remember attending a similar social when I a member and coming back to this social, now as a board officer, was very enlightening. It really made me realize how far I’ve come since then. I’ve realized how much my life has changed from Key Club, because at this same park, was where I attended my first RTC Prep. Coming back to this park for the social was just a very calming experience. I was able to meet a couple more members as well as spend more time with my board. We played basketball, volleyball, tennis, and just relaxed at the jungle gym as if we were little kids again. This social, all in all, let me reminiscence about old memories as well as make new ones. And to top it all off, everyone brought really tasty food and drinks and desserts!

Rock n Roll Marathon When: November 17th Time: 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM Where: Mandalay Bay Casino

I had a blast spending time with my fellow officers at the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon on Sunday, November 17th! Sergio, Jocelyn, Ally, my sister and I were in charge of making sure that the corrals were organized in time for the race to start. The sights at The Strip were nice to see during the night, and I'm sure that our members enjoyed volunteering as much as I did!

PB & J - A - Thon When: November 19th Time: 2:30 – 3:30 PM Where: Coronado High School

PB&J a thon was a great experience for the key club board and the members. We had the chance to get to know each other better, and help the community out at the same time. With Circle K visiting our event and participating, the atmosphere was extravagant. With the total of 195 sandwiches made for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, I am glad to say that my club has been making me proud with the progress and the bonds we have all made. I plan to have another PB&J a thon with the goal of making close to 300 sandwiches, which will also aid the Las Vegas Rescue Mission later on in December, and hope to have more members attend as well!

-Sergio Linares,

Coronado KC President

November DCM When: November 19th Time: 5:00 – 6:00 PM Where: Del Sol High School

The presidents present their monthly report about their respective club’s events and various happenings. Afterwards the DCM attendees mingle with one another!
