THE Brisbane Boys College Gymnastics venue proved to be a successful competitive arena for the boys from the Cooroy Gymnastics Club. Coach Tony Sutton travelled to BBC on mothers day with five of Cooroy’s brightest young competitors to contest the Sunshine Coast Regional Championships. All boys contested the six individual disciplines and for all round awards. The gymnasts have been training hard to compete well at the regionals to qualify for the Queensland State Championships which are to be held at the Chandler Gymnastics Center at the end of June. Jonah Harrisson finished 1st in the level 3 open competition also winning gold on floor, pommel horse and vault and bronze on high bar and rings. In the level 3 under competition Finlay Jones finished 2nd overall with gold on floor and vault and silver on rings and high bar, and Edison Manuel won gold in the high bar event. Noosa Junior Pirates Rugby League THE U7 white team had a tough game against Caboolture on the weekend. Player of the match was Tammin Lange and all kids played excellent. U7 Blue continued their good form and tackled their hearts out against Caboolture. Matthew made some good runs while Harry continued to back up his team with confidence. U7 gold played a double header v Caloundra. The boys showed great spirit to battle away for the 2 games. We love tackling..and it showed. After 2 games the boys had tackled themselves to a stand still. Man of both games was Kade. We think he has Lockyer covered next season for the Broncos. Any scouts could do worse than getting his signature before he turns 8. U8 blue have continued on their improving defensive effort to beat Caboolture 13 tries to 3 with Ryan and Josh bagging three tries each awesome effort all round these

boys r unstoppable. U8 gold with some much improved defence and flair in attack had their best game of the year. Michael made some lovely tackles and Ryan and Sam ran the ball up full of steam. Great effort boys. U9 Gold had a tough away game against some big Caboolture kids. The boys tackled low and hard and ran for the holes. The boys are unloading good passes in tackles now. They all played the game in good spirit and came off with a smile on their faces, well done boys. U10 gold played a well drilled Maroochydore team. Some great defence from all the boys frustrated the opposition and out attack was on fire. Well played boys. Man of Match went to Clyde Whitford. Go pirates! Some dropped ball and bad decisions led to the U11 blue going down to Maroochydore 22-12. Great runs were made by Joel, Mojo and Bopple. Sneaky try to

Will and Josh’s defence was a highlight. Under 11 gold came up against Kawana in a thrilling game with both teams going try for try. In the end it was Kawana’s day, with man the match going to Isaak Mclean. U12gold had another very convincing win against Maroochydore. With some great attack and some brutal defence the opposition were never in the game. Led by Asher Buckman,Glen Jarret,Ali Bakach,Harvey Hope and Brin Lloyd. Great effort by all our giants. U12 Blue took on Caloundra at home in an entertaining game . Noosa came home with 2 great tries to Ashar Buckman and Taon Mulchay but time ran out. Strong efforts from Jonathon Lowth, Blake Gower and Jayden Symes. U13 Blue got up 31-10 over Palmwoods, U13 Gold side beat Caloundra 36-14 and the 14’s went down 20-10 against Gympie Gold. A great team effort over Gympie saw the U16’s back to their best. Final score Noosa 38 Gympie 12.
