This longstanding tradition for breeders and consignors still comes to a close in October, yet months in advance preparations begin. Considering what they have on the ground, will this horse suit the market that is now strong, has my time and effort paid off for someone to have a wonderful partner? The answer this year is absolutely! We have numerous lovely horses offered for sale this year, some from two original breeders who consigned in the very first auction! It is inspiring to see the growth in their bloodlines and the quality of horses they continue to produce. We welcome many new consignors this year as well, they too have brought quality athletes looking for their new homes. Whether you are looking for a junior, amateur, or a professional we have the bloodlines, the temperaments and even the chrome to delight everyone!

Bloodlines for jumpers such as Balou du Rouet, Carrera VDL, Comme Il Faut, Diamant de Semilly, Duplexx, Eldorado vd Zeshoek, Gare Du Lyon, Indoctro, Jethro Tull, and Quidam Blue form an exceptional collection of some of the proven sires whose influence is deeply embedded in modern sport horse breeding. Prospects (must be 3 to 6 years of age)
4 years or older - must be started under saddle
3 years old – started under saddle or ready to start under saddle
Preference MAY be given to horses that are started
Performance Horses (must be 5 to 12 years of age)
Performance horses must have shown at a minimum of two EC or USEF rated shows or have proof of attending five schooling shows in the past 18 months.
Preference MAY be given to horse with an outstanding show record
Broodmares (must be 15 years of age or under)
Broodmares must be 60 days pregnant at sale time and have a pregnancy confirmed prior to the allocated sale dates.
Must meet breed eligibility requirements (including inspection) and have been covered by a stallion entered in the CWHBA studbook. They must perform the same basic PPE as weanlings and yearlings.
Weanlings
It is recommended that they are shown at their dam’s side, although may be shown without.

TERMS CONDITIONS &
1) TERMS OF SALE ARE CASH, Cheque, E-transfer or Wire and payment is due within 48hrs of receipt of invoice. The right of property, including physical possession of the horse and registration papers, shall not pass to the buyer until after the settlement is complete. The seller will pay all registration ownership transfer fees, according to Canadian law.
2) The images presented of each horse are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information presented is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. All horses are sold as is. Right of recourse must be directed to the seller and not to CWHBA or Sale Management.
3) PPE information on each horse is provided to the best of knowledge of the seller and best practice of the attending veterinarian and are believed to be true. The Auction house and Sale Administration make no claims regarding horse health or soundness and assumes no responsibility if the information received is inaccurate. It is the buyers responsibility to do their due diligence by reviewing the information provided.
4) The Canadian Warmblood Auction office will process the transfer of registration papers after settlement is complete.
5) Each horse will be sold to the highest bidder as determined by the auction site at the close of the lot, the decision is final.
6) It is to be clearly understood that Canadian Warmblood Auction, Clip My Horse and the Canadian Warmblood Association and staff or contractors of each are only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and are not in any way responsible for any failure of either party to live up to their obligations. Neither do they assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties. Any legal action that may be taken, in exceptional cases, must be between buyer and seller.
7) A sale by auction is complete once the timer has completed for the Lot number. Timers count down in staggered closing sequences starting with Lot 0.
8) Bids placed by the seller are permitted prior to lot close and placed at the seller’s sole discretion.
9) GST will be charged on horses sold according to Canadian law, based on whether or not the seller is a GST registrant.
10) The Auction house reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
11) The Sale Committee reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
12) The prospective buyer will be permitted to ride under-saddle horses for tryouts by contacting the seller. Rules/Regulations of the seller’s facility, including waivers signed, must be followed. Neither the Sales Admin, Auction House or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property.
13) Horses are insured for the purchase price by BFL Insurance, by CWHBA, for 10 days post sale after which each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser.
14) Horses staying at the sellers facility longer than 10 days MUST have insurance extended at the expense of the buyer.
15) Assistance may be given in making shipping arrangements after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Administration, Auction House, Committee Members or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser.
16) Should the buyer fail to comply in any respect with all conditions above, the Sale Management may, at its discretion, pursue any remedy available against the defaulting buyer, including, but not limited to, taking possession of the horse(s) and resale of the horse(s) at public auction or by private treaty for account of the defaulter. In such a case, the defaulter shall be liable for any deficit in the account after payment of all costs of maintenance and resale, attorney fees, costs of litigation, and damages available to seller by law.
17) The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following the purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

Limiting Criteria
• Priority will be given to CWHBA registered horses at the discretion of the Sale Committee
• Special consideration MAY be given to horses with an exceptional show record or with siblings from the direct mother-line with exceptional show records
• Lots will be accepted for the Spring Prospect Sale
• Approximately 40 lots will be accepted for the Fall Classic Breeders’ Sale
• Other Limiting Criteria may include performance and/or pedigree – including but not limited to dam approval scores (based on inspections) and stallion approval/licensing status. The nominated horses’ linear profile may be considered as well
• All selections are at the sole discretion of the Sale Committee
• In your nomination, please include as much information as possible about your horse’s performance record, schooling shows, ability (free jump video for a jumper prospect or free movement for dressage prospects where it would be an asset), other noteworthy siblings out of the dam-line and any other pertinent information for the Sale Committee to make their decision
REMINDER: All horses MUST be physically present for the allotted Presentation Days in Olds, AB. No exceptions.
NOMINATIONS
1. All owner(s) agree that by nominating their horse(s) they will provide the sale with all required veterinarian documentation including x-rays, negative EIA, insurance forms, vaccination records, medication form and videoed flexion tests (required for horses three and older). These will be sent to the Admin Team ON TIME. Failure to do so will forfeit all fees and your horse will not be sold through the sale.
2. All owner(s) agree that by nominating their horse(s) they will allow them to be tested for any banned substances according to the Equine Canada Medication Control Committee. Every horse must have blood drawn at their PPE and it must be held by the sellers vet for 45 days after the sale.
3. Where the owner of a horse is a partnership, limited company, ranch or farm, all legal signatories must sign the Seller Declaration form and agree on the sale Terms and Conditions.
4. All truthful information and representations of the horses consigned are the sole responsibility of the seller or agent of the seller, as per the sale Terms and Conditions.
5. The seller acknowledges they have read and agree to the full sale Terms and Conditions upon submitting their Nomination.
6. All original papers for North American breed registries only must be turned into our office no later than the Presentation Days, along with the corresponding signed transfer of ownership forms. European Passports/papers should be transferred directly to the buyer from the seller and will not be handled by the Sale Admin.
7. Proof of transfer will be required for sale disbursement to take place. In the case of a pending registration, the registration form must be completed, DNA included with the DNA form and proof of submission to the respective registry sent into our office no later than end of sale date.
HORSE OWNERSHIP TRANSFER
CWHBA will carry insurance for a maximum of 10 days to ensure the smooth transition from Seller to Buyer, once payment has be confirmed transport arrangements can be arranged between the Seller and Buyer.
VETERINARY CONSULTATIONS AND PRE-PURCHASE EXAMINATIONS
Every horse offered at the Fall Classic Breeders Sale has a sale required PPE completed on file and registered bidders will have access to them on the auction site. In addition, measurements were taken at the presentation days. Xrays are accessible for viewing by registered bidders via the health link on the auction page. Requests for xrays to be forewarded to a vet of bidders choosing can be submitted by the form found on the health link page.
TEST RIDES AND HORSE VIEWINGS
Prospective buyers may arrange with individual sellers to view horses in person at the sellers/agents full discretion. Prospects Under Saddle and Performance Horse tryouts may be permitted IF the prospective buyer has proper riding footwear and approved safety helmet and complies with all facility rules. Please contact the seller directly to make arrangements for in person viewing or test rides.
INSURING YOUR PURCHASE
The Sales Committee has secured a 10-day insurance policy with BFL to allow for time for the Buyer to ensure all paperwork is in place for insurance and transport. The sale administration can arrange for the buyer to connect with the insurance agent to insure your new purchase.

3 HORSE SPORT HEADS

Janet Griffin-Scott, a Canadian artist celebrated for her equine paintings, was born in Toronto and raised in Midland, Ontario, where she developed an early love for horses and nature. As a teenager, she competed in over-fences classes at schooling shows, fairs, and club events, experiences that cemented her lifelong connection to horses. She went on to study at York University, graduating with Honours from the Bachelor of Fine Arts program in Graphic Design, Photography, and Illustration. Following graduation, Janet spent ten years working in Toronto’s advertising agencies and art studios as a freelance artist. When her children began school, Janet stepped away from advertising and turned back to her first love: horses as the subject of her art. Despite having been discouraged by teachers in high school and university from painting horses, she pursued her passion, experimenting with pencil, oil, and acrylic before settling on a unique combination of watercolour and gouache. This medium allowed her to capture effects that were both soft and subtle, or bold and brilliant. Over the next decade, she refined her style while completing commissioned portraits of animals and people. Her ability to achieve striking likenesses made her work highly sought after, and she built a loyal clientele, with one collector owning eleven of her originals.
Her artistic achievements also include high-profile commissions. In 2010, Janet designed a pure gold coin for the Royal Canadian Mint depicting an RCMP officer and his horse. Two years later, she designed a second coin featuring the Mounties and was shortlisted for three additional designs. That same year, her instructional book Watercolour Made Easy: Horses and Ponies was published by Walter Foster, cementing her reputation as both an artist and teacher.
Janet continues her artistic career part-time while pursuing other interests and sports. Horses remain central to her life. Through her work, Janet seeks to capture the essence of the horse—its beauty, grace, power, and companionship. From original paintings to internationally licensed products, her art reflects a lifelong passion and a deep respect for the animal that has shaped her career and her life.
This years’ cover is a digital rendering of the series “Three Horse Sport Heads”, therefore Lot #0 this year includes all three pieces pictured above. 80% of the artwork’s sale proceeds go to the artist, while 20% supports the CWHBA 2026 Young Breeders Team on their path to the WBFSH International Championships in Germany!

BOUGHT A HORSE NOW WHAT?
You placed the successful final bid, the auction lot is CLOSED, and now you are the proud owner of a new horse. Congratulations!
1. You will be contacted by the sale administrator within 24 hours of the auction closing with your invoice (containing GST where applicable, as per Canadian Law) and details on payment submission. This invoice constitutes a Bill of Sale.
2. Payment must be made within 48 hours of receiving your invoice. In the event of a delay, arrangements must be made with the sale administrator.
3. Sellers have all agreed to stable your new horse for up to 10 days post sale free of charge.
4. Sellers will remain in possession of your new horse until the Sale Administrator has confirmed that your money has cleared through the bank. This can take 24-72 hours for wire transfers and up to 10 days for Cheque Deposits. Please do not expect to arrange shipping prior to this time.
5. Once funds have cleared, the seller will be given the go ahead by our Sale Administrators to release the horse to you, the new owner! The Sale Administrator will facilitate the horses’ registration papers being transferred into your name as per the requirements of each breed registry.
