NEWSLETTER & WHAT’S

A star performance from Dance Beats

Last month’s “Second Star to the Right” by Dance Beats and Toppers School of Dance and Drama was an enchanting experience that captivated young and old. The show was a delightful journey into the whimsical world of Peter Pan, brought to life through the grace and energy of its young dancers.

From the moment the curtains opened, it was clear that everyone had put in tremendous effort and dedication as we were immediately transported to the mystical realms of Neverland. The choreography was imaginative and fluid, perfectly capturing the essence of the wellknown story. The young dancers demonstrated skill and coordination, a testament to the hard work of their instructors. The costumes and lighting added to the overall visual feast, while the music perfectly complemented the dance routines.

Congratulations to everyone involved in a production that was both heart-warming and visually spectacular. We are incredibly lucky to have an organisation such as this in our community where creativity and imagination are nurtured in such a positive way!

Our new garden

The Directors of Clarence Hall have expressed their thanks to the management and team at Abergavenny Garden Centre for their generous support in relation to the Clarence Hall garden, which has recently been planted.

Chairman, Dean Christy said: “We are fortunate to have tremendous support from our local community and on this occasion from an excellent local business. We are very grateful to everyone involved in the garden project and particularly Ian McDonald, Gavin Trinder and the team at Abergavenny Garden Centre”.

In addition to Synergy, various guest instrumentalists will be playing a variety of classical and modern pieces.

Raising the roof for Cancer Research!

Congratulations to Cancer Research Wales Crickhowell Fundraising Committee for an excellent concert at the Clarence Hall last month, featuring an ensemble from Abergavenny Borough Band, Cantorion Phoenix Community Choir and Guest Soloists. A delighted audience thoroughly enjoyed a wide repertoire of music ranging from classical pieces to modern hits, with some excellent individual solos.

Cantorion Phoenix delivered a performance that showcased the choir’s talent and hard work, creating a rich and emotive sound that resonated throughout the venue. Abergavenny Borough Band’s rendition of a number of well-known pieces was a highlight, displaying a high level of musicianship and coordination. Special mentions go to the soloists and conductors, whose musicality and leadership shone through, enhancing the overall experience. It was heart-warming to see friends, families, and neighbours come together to support our local musicians in raising a considerable sum of money for Cancer Research Wales. Overall, it was a memorable night that highlighted the vibrant cultural scene in our area. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this event happen.
