AAODS shine in return to the stage!
Congratulations to AAODS for a superb performance of the dark comedy musical, Little Shop of Horrors. Abergavenny’s longest-standing musical theatre society made its much-anticipated return to the stage in April at the Clarence Hall and they didn’t disappoint! It was an absolute delight to experience the energy and enthusiasm that everyone brought to the show.

A ‘deviously delicious’ Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop Of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for more than 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty And The Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.
With a strong ensemble cast, laugh out loud moments and plenty of well-known songs, this was a show which featured a wealth of talent. Both the cast and the creative team are to be congratulated on a tremendous performance. Well done to you all!
Crickhowell celebrates the Coronation!
To commemorate the Coronation, a Celebration Cream Tea will be held at the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell at 2.30pm-4.00pm on Monday, 8 May.

This is a free event for Crickhowell Residents aged 70+ or anyone who cannot normally leave their home. Please book your place by contacting Kerry or Nikki at Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau on 01873 812177. Transport can be arranged by contacting June at Dial-a-Ride on 01873 811097.

The Celebration Tea is being organised by the Trustees of the Clarence Hall, supported by Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau, Crickhowell Pantomime Society, Crickhowell Rotary Club, Crickhowell Dial-a-Ride, Crickhowell Tea Party Foundation and Crickhowell Town Council. A true community effort!
Following the Cream Tea, the celebrations continue in the evening of Monday, 8 May with a Party in the Park in the Castle Grounds from 6.45pm. This is a free Community Event, sponsored by Crickhowell Town Council, with a firework display, music by ‘Universal Translators’ and ‘Noted’, a variety of food outlets and three bars. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic.
Everyone is invited to join in the evening’s celebrations!

Torfaen Arts returns to the Clarence Hall
The popular Crickhowell Open Studios event presents the perfect excuse to visit Crickhowell during the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend.
Numerous venues across the locality will showcase the wonderful art and creativity that the area inspires. The weekend is organised by Suzette Pratten and staff of the Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre with support from volunteers and artists.
The Clarence Hall is, once again, hosting Torfaen Arts, a diverse group of both amateur and professional artists living within Torfaen. Their aim is to produce and show art work of exhibition quality. The artists work individually in a range of mediums; some are highly experienced and others quite new to painting.
Don’t forget to visit us on 27-29 May to view what will undoubtedly be another excellent exhibition!
