CRICKHOWELL’S
CL ARENCE HALL NEWSLETTER & WHAT’S ON Crickhowell Choral Society One of the regular users of the Clarence Hall is Crickhowell Choral Society, a renowned mixed choir, conducted by the talented Stephen Marshall. The Choir’s annual music festival returns on 29 April - 2 May after a Covid silence of two years, with a tremendous programme of events and a line up of soloists who are sure to thrill. For this year's festival events, there are no paper tickets, and no sales on the door. Tickets can be purchased online at http:// www.crickhowellc horalsociety.org
Crickhowell stands with Ukraine The Trustees of the Clarence Hall were grateful for the support of everyone who attended our Bingo and Lunchtime Recital events in March, which raised funds for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Both events were part of the ‘Crickhowell stands with Ukraine’ campaign. Information on further fundraising events for Ukraine will be available in the May newsletter.
We Will Rock You!
We’re delighted that the Junior Section of AAODS (Abergavenny Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society) are performing ‘We Will Rock You Young@Part’ at the Clarence Hall on 28, 29 & 30 April. AAODS first appeared on the local music scene in 1911 when it staged its first musical, A Nautical Knot. In addition to its Senior Section, the Society has a successful Junior Section for children aged 8 to 18. The range of productions undertaken by the Senior and Junior sections is varied, tackling the classics and lesser known productions. Both the Society and its individual performers have been regular winners of awards at the District and Regional level of NODA, the National Operatic and Dramatic Association. Tickets are available at: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/ Abergavenny-Amateur-Operatic-Dramatic-Society.
