CRICKHOWELL’S

CL ARENCE HALL NEWSLETTER & WHAT’S ON Message from Dean Christy, our Chairman I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our friends and supporters a Happy and healthy New Year. As we enter yet another challenging year, I would particularly like to thank all those who have donated to our charity to help us deliver what the community told us they want. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to my fellow Trustees of the Clarence Hall, as well as all the other volunteers who have freely given their time to support us in so many ways. Without their assistance we would not be where we are now. Although enormous progress has been made, there is still a lot to do, but we are determined to realise our vision for the Clarence Hall for the benefit of the community.

Can you help us close our funding gap of £20,000? Our appeal continues to raise funds for the refurbishment of the Clarence Hall. Although we have been awarded £100,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund towards our target of £195,000, we still need to raise a further £20,000 to close the funding gap and secure this grant. There are several ways to contribute. Either donate online via JustGiving https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/ clarencehall or in person at CRiC and Cashells. If you would rather pay by bank transfer, please contact us on clarencehallcomms@gmail.com. We’re hoping to deliver the priorities identified by the Community Survey undertaken in 2020 so that we can host a full range of inclusive activities for individuals and groups of all ages. We hope you can help!

Elvis rocks the Clarence! Our sell-out ‘Elvis is back’ fundraising concert in early December was a tremendous success. We were fortunate that Keith Davies BCAv and his Memphis Mafia took to the stage to raise funds for our Refurbishment Appeal and they didn’t disappoint. An outstanding performance from this local legend! Keith has promised to return later this year, so watch this space.
