Friends of Claremont

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Saturday 17th May 2025

Welcome...

Friends of Claremont

to the Friends of Claremont’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Ball. We are delighted by your attendance and hope you have an enjoyable evening. The Friends was established as a registered charity in September 2023.

Our mission is to:

• Build a strong identity and sense of community across the three schools, whilst enhancing the experience of all learners.

• Engage and support the pupils and their families as well as families in the wider community and locality.

In alignment with this mission, we have hosted various events at the school to engage parents, the community and learners.

Our events are designed to be as inclusive as possible. Events range from the Historical Series, Cheese and Wine to Ceilidhs. These events aims to fundraise, build a sense of community and raise the profile of the school. The Historical Series has welcomed parents and outside interested parties to hear Pamela Rider speak of the rich history of the buildings as well as raising significant funds for the Restoration Fund.

Many of our events, such as the Christmas Fair and Quizzes, have a fundraising element. Over the past two years, through your generous support and attendance, we have raised over £50k to support school and pupil initiatives.

During this school year, parents, pupils and staff have been invited to apply for funding to enhance educational opportunities for children.

From these requests we have approved approximately £27k to enhance and improve the educational experience for children at Claremont. Approved spending includes;

• Approved spending includes outdoor fixed Table Tennis Tables for additional break and lunch activities.

• Approved purchases and training for Lego Edu Spike, Retro Controllers, and Sphere Robots to provide enhanced coding experiences, ensuring seamless provision from junior through to senior school.

• Fan Court Garden will receive funding for a greenhouse and further gardening opportunities for junior school pupils.

• Noteworthy is the installation of Digital Display Screens to support communications during school and at events.

We are raising funds for future Friends projects and partnering with a local charity; The Claygate Community and Youth Hub. The Hub is an amazing charity that supports many young people in the community, including one of Claremont’s past pupils Teddy who sadly passed away in 2022.
