• In 1931, the School, was a thriving boarding and day school for girls.
• Having started in Norwood and expanded to three boarding houses, the school moved to Claremont in Esher, Surrey.
• The school was renamed from Clearview to Claremont.
• The emblem, a crown, signifies Claremont’s status as a former royal palace.
• The school did not become Claremont Fan Court School until 1978 when it amalgamated with a boys prep school.
(Interestingly fees were £45 a term and Harrods of Knightsbridge designed the uniform.)
