Tips for Conserving Water Courtesy of Upper Trinity Regional Water District

Upper Trinity Regional Water District initiated Stage 1 watering restrictions for all of its Customer cities and utilities on June 28, 2022. Under Stage 1, outdoor watering is limited to a maximum of two days per week and prohibited between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents should check their city’s or utility’s website or social media for assigned watering days or other requirements regarding outdoor watering, and follow the watersaving tips below. North Texas is getting hotter, drier, and more crowded. So, the more we do to save water today, the better everyone’s tomorrows will be. Let’s all do our part to conserve water this summer — and always. There are easy, inexpensive ways to reduce water use, maintain beautiful landscapes, and save money on water bills. As much as 80% of water use in the summer months is for outdoor watering. It’s estimated that half of that water may be wasted due to poorly designed and maintained irrigation systems or watering at the wrong time of the day or for too long. Remember, yards are tougher in Texas!
