WE SERVE Sanger with PRIDE
The Sanger Lions Club would like to thank all the donors who have supported our flag program. In the last few years, we have been able to SERVE 33,000 people, logged 6,000 SERVICE hours and have donated $22,000. We have recycled over 3,500lbs. of plastic and turned them in to six park benches for the City of Sanger. The Purple Bus Program, Sanger High School Scholarships, First Refuge Ministries and our five global causes - Vision, Environment Hunger, Childhood Cancer, Diabetes –are a few ways we have been able to give back to our community.

NEW LIONS CLUB OFFICERS INSTALLED (Sanger, Texas July 19, 2022) -- An installation ceremony was held on July 6, 2022, for incoming officers of the Sanger Lions Club. Brad Allison was elected as the club president for 2022-2023. Allison has been an active member of the Sanger Lions Club for the past 3 years.
Roxanne Haug was elected to serve as the new club secretary. The club’s 1st vice-president will be Geronimo Polanco Jr. The club’s 2nd vice-president will be Dale Moorhead. Linda Nichols will be the club’s treasurer.
According to Allison as club president, “I am looking forward to leading various projects and continuing the Sanger Lion Club’s commitment to serving the community.”
Since the club’s chartering in 1987, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as our American Flag program, and eyeglass recycling program, just to name a few. Proceeds from past fundraising events have gone to Sanger High School scholarships, the Boys State program, the purple bus, and backpack program, and the Texas Lions Camp for children with special needs. The Lions Club just donated 50 American Flags for this year’s Freedom Fest held at Porter Park over the holiday weekend. They have committed to donating 75 more over the next three years. Allison said they would like to have an American Flag for each year that Sanger has been established. The club is currently planning for Vision Awareness month in October and Diabetes Awareness month in November.
The Sanger Lions Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at noon at the Sanger community center at 101 Freese Street. Lions clubs are groups of men, women, and youths who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
