A GloriousYear Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to God our Father in Heaven. He has given us another year to share the GOOD NEWS. As you can see from this Special Edition of Lion’s Roar, our church has a rich past that is prologue to a glorious future. A vibrant church ministry is marked by growth. Over the last 12 months, we have seen amazing growth in all divisions of the minstry. Children’s church, teen, family and singles ministries have all greatly increased in number. This increase means that more people are being fed with the life changing news of the gospel. The City of Praise Family Ministries is feeding souls with God’s Holy Word, the uncompromising truth of God’s amazing grace and unconditional love. We are blessed and overjoyed to witness God’s word change lives. Our prayer is that you are blessed by this Special Edition highlighting some of the glorious encounters of the last year. Our Rich Past is Prologue to Our Glorious Future Over 40 years ago, James and Betty Peebles formed a traveling gospel choir, which would eventually become a thriving church congregation. Today that congregation is led by Pastor Joel Peebles and Co-Pastor Ylawnda Peebles.

Amazing Leaders With a congregation as large as the City of Praise Family Ministries and with the extensive outreach to the com-
munity, mentoring and training a strong leadership team is extremely important. Over the last year, leaders of the City of Praise Family Ministries have gone through recertification and ordination training. The
leadership ordination included the ordaining of seven elders, 11 ministers, 44 deacons, six ministers in training and 28 deacons in training. Minister Ylawnda Peebles was ordained as co-pastor of the church.

A Glorious Year! God has blessed the City of Praise Family Ministries with a glorious year. Just a few of the life-changing events...Men’s Retreat, Youth Conference, Cancer Outreach, Vicki Yohe in Concert, I.V. Hilliard Father’s Day Event, Praise in the Park, Leadership Recertification and more. We are looking forward to 2013 to be filled with even more opportunities to win souls for JESUS CHRIST!
