FOSS CREEK PATHWAY WINS BIKE PROJECT OF THE YEAR

The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition has awarded the City of Healdsburg with the Bike Infrastructure Project of the Year!

The Foss Creek Pathway leads from Front Street near the southern City limits through downtown, past the Community Center to the intersection of Grove Street and Healdsburg Avenue.

The longest and most important segment was completed in 2021, connecting from the existing pathway at the City’s Carson Warner Memorial Skatepark and extending past City Community Center to the intersection of Grove Street and Healdsburg Avenue. This segment of pathway includes an 80’ bridge over Foss Creek and a signalized pedestrian crossing of Dry Creek Road.

Construction of an additional section of approximately 1/3-mile is underway as part of private development

The final segment of approximately 1/2- mile is expected to be incorporated into a large road diet project schedule for construction in 2026

WATER AND ENERGY EDUCATION PROGRAM

Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership

As a member of the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership, City of Healdsburg schools and teachers have access to the Water and Energy Education Program. The Water and Energy Education Program at Sonoma Water helps students and educators learn about the vital role of water and energy in Sonoma, Mendocino, and Marin counties. This program provides free classroom visits, field trips, contests, grants, teacher workshops, school supplies, and more to schools in our service area. This increases environmental awareness and stewardship through scientific inquiry and hands-on, experiential education.
