The City of Healdsburg recently applied for Bicycle Friendly Community status from the League of American Bicyclists!

The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition has awarded the City of Healdsburg with the Bike Infrastructure Project of the Year!
The Foss Creek Pathway leads from Front Street near the southern City limits through downtown, past the Community Center to the intersection of Grove Street and Healdsburg Avenue.
The longest and most important segment was completed in 2021, connecting from the existing pathway at the City’s Carson Warner Memorial Skatepark and extending past City Community Center to the intersection of Grove Street and Healdsburg Avenue. This segment of pathway includes an 80’ bridge over Foss Creek and a signalized pedestrian crossing of Dry Creek Road.
The final segment of approximately 1/2- mile is expected to be incorporated into a large road diet project schedule for construction in 2026

On September 5, 2023, the Healdsburg City Council adopted a Resolution establishing a Special Performance Policy for the Healdsburg Plaza to strike a harmonious balance between public entertainment and tranquility in this public space.
Under this new program, performers of all disciplines, including music, theater, and dance, will have the opportunity to schedule their performances in the Plaza according to the following criteria:
A free Special Performance Permit is required for all performances in the Plaza Performances may occur daily between 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a permit Performances are limited to the area directly underneath the Plaza gazebo
Special Performance Permits will be limited to:
One performance in the Plaza per day
Up to one hour of performance time
One permit every seven days for each performer
The program went into effect on September 18th and Staff has already received calls and requests for Plaza performances and issued permits. Applicants can apply online and schedules for Plaza performances and events can be found online or at the bulletin board in the Plaza Park.
As a member of the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership, City of Healdsburg schools and teachers have access to the Water and Energy Education Program. The Water and Energy Education Program at Sonoma Water helps students and educators learn about the vital role of water and energy in Sonoma, Mendocino, and Marin counties. This program provides free classroom visits, field trips, contests, grants, teacher workshops, school supplies, and more to schools in our service area. This increases environmental awareness and stewardship through scientific inquiry and hands-on, experiential education.
