On Sunday, August 3 , Healdsburg Fire Department’s Engine 6361, staffed by Captain Montanye, Engineer Potter, and Firefighter De La Montanya were dispatched as part of Immediate Need Strike Team XSN2385C to the Lake Fire in the community of Clearlake. Engine 6361 was joined by engines from Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District (Geyserville and Cloverdale), Dry Creek Band Fire (River Rock Casino Fire Department), and Sonoma County Fire District. rd
On Tuesday night, Stike Team XSN2385C was reassigned to the Gifford Fire, East of Santa Maria in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. The fire is currently at 99,232 acres with 15% containment.
Immediate Need Strike Teams are a vital tool used by the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to rapidly deploy fire engines across county lines in response to urgent threats to life, property, and the environment.
To ensure uninterrupted service to the City of Healdsburg, three off-duty Healdsburg Firefighters responded to backfill the station, allowing us to maintain full emergency coverage while supporting our partners in other parts of the state.
The City’s 24/25 Sidewalk Repair and Gap Closure Project that began in June will finish this week
The funding for this project came from Transportation Development Act (TDA) –Article 3. These state sales tax funds are allocated to the City on an annual basis to be used for bicycle and pedestrian projects.
The project repaired or upgraded sidewalks at 17 heavily used pedestrian locations and tackled some of the more difficult repairs in town. The project installed new curb ramps and removed known trip hazards.
The project was designed and managed by the Public Works Capital Projects Team. Senior Inspector, Selena Dixon, and Engineering Technician, Scott Mann, led the effort, and were supported by Senior Project Manager, Terrie Zwillinger
Thanks to hard work and ingenuity they successfully delivered this difficult and important project within budget and on schedule.

The City of Healdsburg had an amazing time celebrating Guelaguetza in Healdsburg a couple of weeks ago!
Guelaguetza is a celebration of culture, Indigenous roots, and mixed heritage, as well as the diversity of languages and beliefs! Thank you to Oaxaca Tierra del Sol for planning the event!
