Infants and toddlers are REQUIRED to wear swim diapers. Ask for one at the front counter!
Don’t enter the pool ill or injured. This includes diarrhea, vomiting, open sores, bandages, head colds, discharging ears or nose, or ear infections.

Delay your visit until 48 hours after illness symptoms end.
How to reduce the chance of your child having an accident in the pool:
• Don’t feed children a big meal right before entering the pool
• Take young children on bathroom breaks every 20 minutes
• Ensure you use a SWIM diaper for all infants and toddlers (not a regular disposable or cloth diaper)
• Don’t go to the pool within 48 hours of any illness symptoms
Barre Fitness
Barre fitness is the new group fitness craze at the Pomeroy Sport Centre Studio! Barre is an infusion of flexibility, strength and Pilates style exercises rooted in ballet. This class will be a full body workout to lengthen and strengthen muscles. There is no dance experience required and instructor Tanisha will guide all participants through an hour of total-body exercise. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.

Country Dance Lessons
Country Dance Lessons are back this summer! Whether you have two left feet or just want to refresh your skills, instructor Diana will make sure you perfect the two-step, polka, schottische, heel-toe, butterfly, and waltz. This six-week lesson set will have you burning up the dance floor in no time! Diana has been teaching lessons for a long time and is willing to work with dancers of all ages and abilities. Singles & couples welcome! Please bring your inside shoes and water bottle.

Feather Fit
Looking to stay mobile? At Feather Fit, participants will do strength developing movements with minimal or no weight with an objective to maintain or increase mobility. This program is recommended for actively aging individuals (50 years of age and older) that want to enhance their physical fitness levels. All equipment will be provided, simply show up in comfortable clothing and get ready to move! All fitness levels are welcome! NOTE: Participants will be required to complete a health screening waiver and may require doctor clearance prior to participation

Outdoor Summer Walking Challenge
Hit your favourite trail system, park, or any outdoor location in the region and get stepping! Use the provided tracking sheet and record how much progress you make between July 2 and August 31! Fitness prizes will be awarded to the individuals who log the longest distances. Tracking Sheets will be available starting June 16 at fortstjohn.ca. Print them off at home or stop by the Visitor Centre and pick one up. Completed tracking sheets can be emailed to recreation@fortstjohn.ca NOTE: This is a self-tracked honour system that should only include distance/time walked during outdoors. Participants may use technology (fitbits, etc.) for reference but must only record distances walked on tracking sheets. Steps will not be counted as a tracking system.
Youth Flag Football
Are you looking to get your children out of the house? Do your kids enjoy watching football? Maybe they will enjoy PLAYING football!? Sign them up for the Youth Flag Football sessions happening this summer. Participants will practice and play skills through drills and scrimmages. They will learn the rules, develop their skills and learn the importance of playing as a team. All levels focus on player development, having fun, and sportsmanship. All skill levels and abilities welcome.
