OVVIAN HILL
CREATESPACE PUBLIC ART RESIDENCY is a national public art residency program by Canadian public arts organization, STEPS designed in collaboration with the City of Fort St. John to provide early and mid-career Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Metis), and People of Colour racialized artists with the skills, relationships and practical experience needed to take their public art practices to the next level. This CreateSpace Artist in Residency is awarded to the talented, Filipino Sculptor, Ovvian Castrillo-Hill. This summer and fall Ovvian will bring a unique temporary public art piece to the Fort St. John community!
The North Peace Cultural Society has been the hub of arts and community in Fort St. John since it opened its doors in June of 1992. We are a non-profit organization that relies on donations from the community to thrive and are governed by the North Peace Cultural Society.

Private Skating Lessons

Using the Active Communities Learn to Skate Program, participants will complete 5 lessons over 5 consecutive days. Students will work on balance, stopping, turning, and getting more comfortable on the ice. Students will develop 6 levels of skills and be given a report card to showcase how much progress they made. Want to skate with a buddy or sibling? Second skaters receive a discount for signing up for the same lesson. Maximum 2 skaters per group - registration must be done together and participants should be of similar age or skating ability. Prerequisites: 3 years of age or older. Participants are required to bring their own equipment (skates, helmets, layers, and so on).

NOTE: Parents must supervise their children and indoor shoes (or socks) are required. A pass is required for admission. Fieldhouse Party Packages
Come bounce with us at the Kids Arena Fieldhouse for your upcoming celebration! INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL: 1.5 hours of play on the pitch for up to 25 children. Your choice of 2 bouncers, a variety of sports equipment, and options of games to play. There will be a designated area for cake and presents. NOTE: Packages are available on Saturday and Sunday only. Packages are available on a first come, first served basis. Packages may not be available on select days. Midweek Mayhem
Use of the floating obstacle course during public swim and enjoy some summer fun with a games leader between 5- 6pm & 7- 9pm. This activity is for school aged children.

Play in the park
Join the Recreation team this summer for free play at different City Parks every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am-11:30am! There will be toys, sports equipment, interactive activities and more for everyone to enjoy! View the schedule below for dates and locations. NOTE: This program is free but parents/ guardians are required to stay and supervise their children at all times. Participants should come dressed to get messy/ play. Recommended for children age 1 -12 years of age. Follow the City of Fort St. John Recreation Facebook page for regular notices or possible cancellations.

Pool Party Packages
Make a splash at the North Peace Leisure Pool for your next special event! INCLUDED IN RENTAL: 2 hours of swim time at the North Peace Leisure Pool for up to 20 guests. There will be a designated area for cake and presents with access during the 2 hour pool rental and 15 minutes prior to set up. Tables, chairs, stickers, & balloons for 20. Paper table covers and crayons to doodle with.

Pro D Day Camp
Campers will keep busy with a day filled with activities including games, crafts and special guest visits. They will meet new friends, try new activities, and spend their day off having non stop fun! StoryWalk
Bring the family outside to a StoryWalk each month this summer, while enjoying the fresh air! Story pages will be posted along the trail at different City Parks for families to walk and read together! Story pages will stay up throughout the week for your reading convenience. The Fort St. John Public Library will be coming by to help facilitate these sessions, on the Tuesday of each of the StoryWalk weeks, from 11 am – 1 pm!
