Col. Peter A. Land, USAF, Ret., was featured in a Montgomery/ Selma, Ala., television station, WNCF, veteran spotlight on the price of freedom.

(top) Students, friends and classmates of COL Thomas R. Dion, SCM, ’68, raised more than $50,000 for The Citadel on Dion’s behalf to celebrate his 50th class reunion. Dion, who taught at The Citadel for 38 years before retiring in January 2014, was also honored with the dedication of his former classroom which now bears his name. (bottom) Robert P. Hanner II, ’66, a partner with the Dozier Miller Law Group in Charlotte, N.C., was honored by the North Carolina Bar Association for practicing law for 50 years and for earning the designation of family law specialist for 35 years.

Judge Howard P. King received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who, publisher of biographical profiles.

(top) LTC Albert G. Brauer II, USA, Ret., '72, was an age group medalist in the Green Beret Foundation’s Steps n Salutes 5K-run held in Loveland, Ohio, on Sept. 14, 2019. He was also selected as an official for Ohio State High School field hockey championship tournament. (bottom) Class of 1971 members LTC W. Dennis Archer, USA, Ret., and LTC William H. Thomas III, USAR, Ret., participated in World War II parachute jumps in Normandy, France, as part of reenactments for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day during the week of June 5-10, 2019. While there they paid a visit to the MAJ Thomas Dry Howie, USA, ’29, memorial in St. Lô.

1965 BG R. Dennis Kerr, USA, Ret., was inducted into the 82nd Airborne Division Hall of Fame on May 22, 2019.

COL David E. Meacher, USAR, deployed to Germany in support of the United Nations Saber Strike mission in June 2018, serving as the chief medical officer for the first reserve hospital to work with the active component on this mission, for which he received the Army Achievement Medal. Meacher was mobilized from September 2018
