The Citadel Alumni Association is happy to announce that the time to order your Band of Gold is finally here!

The dates for ring sizing for the Class of 2019 will take place with Balfour on January 30th and 31st at the Holliday Alumni Center from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Samples of all rings and jewelry will be on display during this time. Balfour will manufacture your ring over the following two months and will hold try on/inspection of your products on April 3rd and 4th. The Class of 2019 Ring Presentation is scheduled for Friday, October 12th at 1:00 p.m.

Many cadets choose to purchase a Citadel miniature ring to give their mother or girlfriend after Ring Presentation. These are exact replicas of the cadet ring including graduation year. Other accessories and products are also available for purchase to give as gifts to commemorate your accomplishment.

The standard cadet ring is lOK yellow gold. All Balfour products come with a Lifetime Warranty and coverage for 4 years against loss or theft! When you place your order, you may add an additional 6 years of loss and coverage for a one-time payment of $29.95. (Current replacement deductible is $320 for male and $195 for female rings, respectively). After you receive proper eligibility notification from the Registrar’s Office, payment will be due. This is normally in late August when you return from summer furlough.

THE BAND OF GOLD PROGRAM AND YOUR RING

How you do you instill more meaning in an already proud symbol like The Citadel class ring? By making it a vessel for the final wishes of its graduates - imbuing it with an added sense of history, shared responsibility and sacrifice.

The Citadel Alumni Association, through its Band of Gold program, is bequeathed class rings by alumni (or donated by their families). Those rings are melted down and combined with the gold used to forge rings for future classes. That means the ring you will wear contains a portion of the class ring worn by someone who stood in the Long Gray Line.

Family members of the alumnus are invited to a special reception before Ring Presentation.

During the reception, the families are acknowledged for their contribution of their loved ones ring to the Band of Gold Program and the alumnus is announced as part of Ring Presentation.
