To qualify for a bursary, you will be enrolled in a health-related post-secondary training course and you will be a resident of the KYRHA. A resident is defined as “residing in the KYRHA for ten (10) years or half your life time.”

Personal letters explaining your post-secondary education plans, a copy of your resume, and a letter of acceptance from the training institution are all that is required.

Applications for Bursaries will be received until 4:30pm on August 13, 2012.

PDWA Media Release: Boil Water Advisory Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory issued for the Northern Village of Beauval, effective July 26, 2012 Saskatchewan Environment, together with the Northern Village of Beauval, has issued a Precautionary Drinking Advisory for the Northern Village of Beauval due to: The distribution system has been depressurized to facilitate repairs to a broken water main.

All residents and users of water from the Northern Village of Beauval waterworks system are notified to: Boil water used for drinking water purposes for at least one minute at a rolling boil prior to use; Do not drink from any public drinking fountains supplied with water from the public water supply Use an alternative water source known to be safe, if they do not wish to boil the water Boil the water for at least one minute at a rolling boil when it is to be used for other activities where it may be ingested, including: Brushing teeth or soaking false teeth Using water in food or drink which will not be subsequently heated; and Making ice cubes

Restrict use tap water - use sparingly

for domestic purposes only Under most circumstances, residents do not need to boil water used for other household purposes. Adults, adolescents and other children may shower, bathe or wash using tap water but should avoid swallowing the water. Younger children and infants should be sponge-bathed. Residents should also consult with a physician before using the water if they have severe cuts or rashes.

Dishes and laundry may be washed in tap water, either by hand or by machine.

This advisory is effective immediately, and will not be lifted until the water supply is determined to be completely safe.

Saskatchewan Environment and the Northern Village of Beauval are working together to resolve the problem as quickly as possible, and will continue to keep residents advised.

PUTTING PATIENTS FIRST: IMPROVING ACCESS TO PHYSICIANS THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE CARE INCENTIVE PROGRAM As part of the province's continued efforts to improve access to high-quality patient care, Health Minister Dustin Duncan today announced $9.83 million in funding for a new program to encourage and reward family physicians in providing patients with a full range of services.

"Physicians are vital partners as we transform our health system to better meet patients' needs, including improving access to health care," Duncan said. "As part of our agreement with the Saskatchewan Medical Association, I am pleased to introduce the Family Physician Comprehensive Care Program to recognize family physicians who provide patients with a full range of primary care services, while at the same time encouraging more physicians to expand their practices to full comprehensive care."

Physicians who qualify for the program monitor the overall health of their patients, collaborate with other health care providers on their care, and manage their patients' chronic diseases. In addition, qualifying physicians are caring for their patients when they are hospitalized, in a nursing home, or having a baby.

"We know from other high-performing health systems that when patients are provided comprehensive primary care services, such as chronic disease management, their health and satisfaction with the service improves - and this approach is consistent with our focus on patient- and family-centered health care," Duncan said.

"This program will improve access to medical services for the people of Saskatchewan,"

SMA President Dr. Janet Shannon said. "We look forward to working with the ministry on this and other programs to ensure patients receive the quality care they need."

Fifty-eight per cent of Saskatchewan's family physicians currently provide their patients with a full range of services, as defined by the Family Physician Comprehensive Care Program. This new program is designed to increase the number of family physicians who provide continuity of care to their patients through comprehensive services, reducing the need for patients to seek uncoordinated, episodic care. For example, it is hoped more physicians will manage their patients' chronic diseases according to accepted care guidelines.

As well as improving access to health services, the program aligns with Saskatchewan's recently announced initiative to strengthen its primary health care system.

The goal of the initiative is achieving a primary health care model that is sustainable, offers a superior patient experience and ensures better access to services.

Summer Student My name is Devin Rediron, I have been working here at CIPI for 4 weeks now and I really enjoyed my summer position here.

Some working knowledge I gained from working here is overcoming being shy to talk on the radio. Now I can do a full day on air talking and playing music for the Beauval area no problem, so I gained confidence.

My summer position job ends on August 3rd, when I’m done I’m going to focus on moving and finishing the Correctional Studies Program at SIAST in Prince Albert. So with that I would like to thank CIPI for hiring me as a Summer Student.

40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SASKATCHEWAN SUMMER GAMES KICKS OFF The Government of Saskatchewan wishes all the athletes and the City of Meadow Lake well at the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games. The Games run from July 29 to August 4.

The Government of Saskatchewan is proud to support the Games. Government worked with the City of Meadow Lake to redirect $300,000 in provincial funding to support the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games Legacy Project. The funding helped upgrade numerous sporting venues in Meadow Lake, including the Stampede grounds, soccer fields and the Lions Park track facility, to ensure the community could effectively host the Games.

The funding was part of the $1.9 million previously approved through the Building Communities Program for Meadow Lake.

"In support of these Summer Games, the Community Initiatives Fund approved $53,900 in grant support to improve a ball diamond, soccer field and to develop a band shell for the Games this year," Community Initiatives Fund Executive Director Tracey Mann said. "We are also contributing $37,908 to the 40th year celebrations of the Games, bringing CIF's total contribution to $91,808."

These funds were provided through the Community Vitality Grant Program, one of several CIF programs. This program is tailored to supporting small capital projects, as well as community events and community pride projects.

"The 40th Anniversary of the Saskatchewan Games reveals how highly our province values sport and recreation," Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Kevin Doherty said. "The Government of Saskatchewan is proud to have helped the City of Meadow Lake upgrade its sporting facilities in preparation for the Summer Games. The upgrades will serve the City of Meadow Lake for years to come.

These venues are important places where people can play, compete and socialize."
