PREMIER WALL WELCOMES PRINCE OF WALES AND DUCHESS OF CORNWALL TO SASKATCHEWAN Government Establishes New Scholarship in Honour of Diamond Jubilee Visit Premier Brad Wall today welcomed the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall to Saskatchewan during a ceremony at the province's Legislative Building.

Attending the event as special guests were the 10 recipients of the 2012-13 Prince of Wales Scholarship, who travelled from across the province and were recognized for their academic success.

In honour of the Diamond Jubilee visit of Their Royal Highnesses, Premier Wall announced the scholarship will be renamed the "Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Fund", and will be awarded to an additional 10 students each year.

"Queen Elizabeth and Their Royal Highnesses, through their actions and words, remind us of the importance of community and the necessity of providing opportunity to all," Wall said. "In that spirit of generosity, I am pleased to announce the expansion of this scholarship as we renew our

relationship with the Crown."

The Government of Saskatchewan created the scholarship in 2001, when the Prince of Wales last visited the province. Intended to ease the financial burden some students face, the scholarship provides recipients with two installments of $250 while they attend Grade 12. Since its inception, the scholarship has disbursed $50,000 to 100 students across Saskatchewan.

Premier Wall, on behalf of the people of Saskatchewan, also presented a second gift - the creation of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Scholarship, which will be established to assist Grade 12 students attending community schools, to transition into post-secondary studies at a University or technical institute. This new scholarship will be worth $1,000 and will be awarded to six Grade 12 students.

"This scholarship will help ensure everyone can benefit from the Saskatchewan Advantage, which is sustained by the skills, ambition and vision of our young people," Wall said.

ASHTON CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO WITHDRAW EI CUTS TARGETING NORTHERN SEASONAL WORKERS OTTAWA - Today in the House of Commons, Niki Ashton MP (Churchill) demanded the withdrawal of EI changes targeting seasonal workers in the Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan and pointed to the complete lack of understanding on the part of the Government of the economic reality in the North.

Ashton spoke specifically of forest firefighter, many of the seasonal workers, who risk their lives when needed to keep communities safe.

“When they return they will be targeted as “frequent applicants” said Ashton. “Will this Government support our heroes, the people that

keep us safe - and with draw the EI cuts that target seasonal workers?”

In response, Minister of Human Resources and Development, Diane Findley made no reference to forest firefighter or other seasonal jobs that largely exist in Northern Canada.

“The first step is to acknowledge the reality of the Northern economy and that many Aboriginal and Northern communities depend on seasonal work,” commented on Ashton. “These jobs keep our communities safe and sustain families and communities that already struggle with poverty, these cuts will have a devastating impact on Northern and Aboriginal communities.”

Matthew 28:16-20

Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’

Jesus came to his followers with a royal decree in three parts. First, he declared the obvious; he had the power of God [18].

Second, he gave his disciples the command to go, to teach, and to baptize in the name of God [19]: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Finally, he insured their success by promising his presence; when they spoke or acted, the disciples did it with the power of God [20] One God in Three Persons.” The Blessed Trinity should be more than a baffling mystery that we accept on faith. Today’s liturgy invites us to listen again to familiar texts, and to recognize – perhaps for the first time – how they invite us to share in the life which unites Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

‘The coming of the eternal Son among us brought a dramatic revelation of the ultimate identity of the Word of God and the Spirit of God, in the overflowing superabundance that is the divine life. The Son shows himself to be the Word so perfectly expressing all that the

Father is as God, that they share the one divine life and glory; the Father and the Son give full expression to all the love and joy that they share, in the Spirit.’

At this time in my life as a religious I feel the need to live with other religious, in community.

Our God is a community of love: The Trinity.

This should be the norm for us religious but it has become the exception.

I have greatly appreciated working with the 4 Parishes for these 3 years. Your faith and charity have edified me. Starting in September I will be living at St Mary's residence in Battleford.

Father Eugene White OMI will be coming to Beauval at the end of July to explore the possibility of working here.

Thanks for welcoming me in your Parish and please forgive all my shortcomings. I will continue to pray for you and I ask you to do the same.
