El ministro de Agricultura en República Dominicana, ingeniero agrónomo Osmar Benítez juramentó al ingeniero Manuel Alejandro Ureña Tavera como nuevo director general del Instituto del Tabaco de la República Dominicana (INTABACO), durante un acto que contó con la presencia de importantes funcionarios, legisladores, productores, industriales del tabaco, funcionarios y colaboradores de la institución.

El nuevo director general del INTABACO, es un destacado profesional agropecuario egresado del Instituto Superior de Agricultura (ISA), con amplia experiencia en el sector, quien ha ocupado los cargos de Director Agrícola y Director Comercial. Sustituye en el cargo al ingeniero José Casimiro Ramos Calderón.

Benítez, al tomar el juramento al nuevo incumbente del INTABACO le exhortó cumplir con la Constitución y la Ley en materia del tabaco, así como trabajar por el desarrollo y fortalecimiento de la industria tabacalera nacional, manejando la armonía entre los sectores que interactúan en el sector y la industria del tabaco como son el gobierno, productores, industriales, exportadores.

AGRICULTURE MINISTER SWEARS IN NEW GENERAL DIRECTOR OF THE TOBACCO INSTITUTE OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC The Minister of Agriculture in the Dominican Republic, agronomist Osmar Benítez sworn in to engineer Manuel Alejandro Ureña Tavera as the new general director of the Tobacco Institute of the Dominican Republic (INTABACO), during an event that was attended by important officials, legislators, producers, tobacco industrialists, officials and institution colaborators.

The new INTABACO general director is an outstanding agricultural professional graduated from the Higher Institute of Agriculture (ISA), with extensive experience in the sector, who has held the positions of Agricultural Director and Commercial Director.

new INTABACO incumbent urged him to comply with the Constitution and the Tobacco Law, as well as work for the development and strengthening of the national tobacco industry, managing harmony between the sectors that interact in the sector and the tobacco industry such as the government, producers, industrialists, exporters.

THE “CUEVAS RESERVA”

Los cigarros Casa Cuevas se establecieron en el año 2016 pero tienen décadas de historia. La familia Cuevas es responsable de muchos de los cigarros que disfrutas hoy. El maestro Luis Cuevas Sr. nacido en Cuba ha estado mezclando cigarros en su fábrica en República Dominicana para muchas marcas de cigarros conocidas. Ahora, junto con su hijo Luis Cuevas Jr., la marca Casa Cuevas fue creada para honrar su herencia de cuatro generaciones en el mundo del cigarro, ahora lanzando las líneas Cuevas Reserva Natural y Cuevas Reserva Maduro, presentadas al público en el IPCPR 2019 en Las Vegas.

El presidente de Casa Cuevas Cigars, Luis Cuevas Jr., declaró: “Se suponía que Cuevas Reserva era, para mi padre, la marca insignia de la firma Cuevas hace más de una década. Como con todas las cosas en la vida, los planes siempre cambian. Me enorgullece haber trabajado en estrecha colaboración con mi padre y mi hijo Alec Cuevas, quien ahora forma parte del negocio familiar que recrea esta mezcla. Estoy extasiado de que esta marca haya cerrado el círculo, ya que ahora podemos presentarla como un proyecto familiar para el consumidor”. El próximo año será el 25 aniversario de una de las marcas de cigarros Premium más prestigiosas, el OpusX de A. Fuente & Co. y S T. Dupont, que ya hizo la colección OpusX del vigésimo aniversario, ha solicitado una vez más a Manny Iriarte que diseñe las piezas para los 25 años.

En el InterTabac 2019, los visitantes ya pudieron ver la colección y el impresionante diseño.

En este S.T. Dupont colección limitada, el cliente tendrá tres encendedores diferentes para elegir, un cortador de cigarros y un bolígrafo. Todos son diseños impresionantes inspirados en la historia de la marca OpusX. En los próximos meses, la colección incluirá un humidor hecho a mano y un cenicero Limoges del reconocido fabricante Elie Bleu, París, Francia.

El humidor y el cenicero completarán la colección limitada de A. Fuente & Co. y proporcionarán pura elegancia, todo partió de la imaginación de Manny Iriarte.

Todos los premiados en la 6ta edición de los Premios Profesionales de La Boutique del Fumador. // All the winners at the 6th edition of the 2019 Professional Awards.

La sexta edición de los Premios Profesionales 2019, de la revista profesional del sector del tabaco español, La Boutique del Fumador, han coincidido con la conmemoración del 25 Aniversario de la revista. La premiación ha tenido lugar en el estadio Wanda Metropolitano de Madrid y posteriormente se celebró un cóctel en el que se disfrutó de buena música, excelentes cigarros, exquisitos chocolates dominicanos, cortesía de la Embajada Dominicana en España y buenos destilados en un entorno inigualable.

En el evento, fue galardonada la Guardia Civil, cuerpo al que

se le ha otorgado el Premio a la Sostenibilidad del Sector por su constante lucha contra las redes criminales del contrabando.

Por lo que respecta al mundo de los cigarros premium, se entregado dos premios especiales fueron entregados; uno a la labor de Juan Antonio Lucas, Country Director de Scandinavian Tobacco Group España, con el premio a toda una vida dedicada al mundo del tabaco; y el otro a Eladio Díaz, director de Calidad de Davidoff, quien fue distinguido con el premio al tabaquero del bienio, un premio que le entregó Olivo Rodríguez, embajador en España de la

República Dominicana, y que recogió en su nombre Carlos Martínez, vicepresidente de Davidoff of Geneva Iberia. Eladio Díaz agradeció a través de un video la concesión de este galardón. También fueron distinguidos El Bohío de Magallanes, de Madrid, como la mejor cava de cigarros; y Gonzalo Fernández Silio, de Valladolid, por la mejor gestión de redes sociales. El premio al mejor cigarro cubano fue para Cohiba Robustos. El premio al mejor cigarro no cubano fue para el Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour Robusto. La mejor presentación/ envase fue para el Montecristo Double Edmundo Tauromaquia y Morante de la Puebla.

2019 PROFESSIONAL AWARDS FROM THE PROFESSIONAL MAGAZINE OF THE TOBACCO SECTOR, LA BOUTIQUE DEL FUMADOR The sixth edition of the 2019 Professional Awards, of the professional magazine of the Spanish tobacco sector, La Boutique del Fumador, has coincided with the commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the magazine. The awards ceremony took place at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid and later a cocktail was held in which they enjoyed good music, excellent cigars, exquisite Dominican chocolates, courtesy of the Dominican Embassy in Spain and good distillates in a unique environment.

At the event, the Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) was awarded, a force that has been awarded the Sector Sustainability Award for its constant fight against criminal smuggling networks.

As regards the world of premium cigars, two special prizes were awarded; one to the work of Juan Antonio Lucas, Country Director of Scandinavian Tobacco Group Spain, with the prize for a lifetime dedicated to the world of tobacco; and the other one to Eladio Díaz, Davidoff director of Quality, who was distinguished with the prize to the tobacco of the biennium, an award that Olivo Rodríguez, Dominican Republic ambassador in Spain, delivered to Carlos Martínez, vice president from Davidoff of Geneva Iberia. Eladio Díaz thanked the award through a video.
