EL INSTITUTO DEL TABACO DE LA REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA CELEBRA EL 56 ANIVERSARIO DE SU FUNDACIÓN El Instituto del Tabaco de la República Dominicana (INTABACO), fue fundado el 15 de junio de año 1962, por lo que estamos celebrando el 56 aniversario de esta entidad rectora del sector tabacalero nacional, presidida en su actualidad por el ingeniero Juan Francisco Caraballo.

El INTABACO, creado bajo la Ley No. 5961, cuenta con autonomía y personalidad jurídica propia, con el objetivo de promover, fomentar y desarrollar el sector tabacalero nacional. El INTABACO es la única institución oficial con carácter nacional que tiene sede en la ciudad de Santiago de los Caballeros, en la República Dominicana.

Durante las actividades de aniversario, el Ing. Caraballo manifestó que “si el tabaco y los cigarros dominicanos tienen fama mundial en la actualidad, su calidad se debe a las iniciativas que en aquella época tomaron los fundadores del INTABACO, al luchar para la creación de una entidad sólida y capaz para desarrollar al sector tabacalero nacional”.

THE TOBACCO INSTITUTE OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC CELEBRATES ITS 56 ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDATION The Tobacco Institute of the Dominican Republic (INTABACO) was founded on June 15, 1962, for which we are celebrating the 56th anniversary of this lead entity of the national tobacco sector, currently headed by the engineer Juan Francisco Caraballo.

INTABACO, created under Law No. 59-61, has its own autonomy and legal personality, in order to promote, encourage and developed the national tobacco sector.

INTABACO is the only official institution with a national character that has its headquarters in Santiago de los Caballeros city, in the Dominican Republic.

During Intabaco’s anniversary activities, Mr. Caraballo said that “if the tobacco and the Dominican cigars have world-wide fame at present, their quality is due to the initiatives that at that time took the founders of the INTABACO, when fighting for the creation of a solid and capable entity to develop the national tobacco sector".

Hace unas semanas recibimos un mensaje de texto de un joven llamado Oscar Demorizi Montandon. Nos dice que varias personas en Santiago le han referido hablar con la revista Cigarro Dominicano para presentarle sus cigarros. Hacemos una cita y nos entrega unas muestras de tamaños variados, los cuales queremos compartir con nuestros lectores en este artículo.

Demorizi nos cuenta que su interés por los cigarros se inició en el año 2016, cuando un amigo le da a fumar su primer cigarro, de una famosa marca hecha en Santiago, la cual le dejó un inolvidable sabor en boca que despertó su pasión por los cigarros.

Investigando, fumando, leyendo, conversando se fue formando en el extraordinario mundo del cigarro y visitando pequeñas fábricas fue aprendiendo los términos y los procesos, hasta una persona en Tamboril observó su entusiasmo y lo animó a desarrollar su propia línea, la cual duró un año y tres meses para lanzarse. Es en noviembre del año 2017 cuando la producción está lista, tras hacerle algunos cambios de lugar, y desde esa fecha, Demorizi ha ido lanzando diferentes tamaños de cigarros y sigue en expansión. Aunque tiene sus cigarros a la venta en diferentes establecimientos del país, tiene una original manera de comercializarlos. Se trata de una oferta semanal de cinco cigarros, que promociona en sus redes, los clientes las piden y las reciben a domicilio.

Y tras esta breve historia de los cigarros Demorizi, pasamos a darle los detalles técnicos de este cigarro hecho a mano en Tamboril, Santiago, República Dominicana por el master blender Agustín Cabrera.

A few weeks ago we received a text message from a young man named Oscar Demorizi Montandon. He tells us that several people in Santiago have told him to talk with the Cigarro Dominicano magazine to present his cigars. We make an appointment and give us samples of various sizes, which we want to share with our readers in this article.

Demorizi tells us that his interest in cigars began in 2016, when a friend gave him his first cigar, from a famous brand in Santiago, which left an unforgettable taste in his mouth that aroused his passion for cigars. Investigating, smoking, reading, talking, forming in the extraordinary world of cigars and visiting small factories, he learned the terms and processes, when a person in Tamboril observed his enthusiasm and encouraged him to develop his own line, which lasted a year and three months to launch. It is in November year 2017 when the production is ready, after making some changes, and since that date, Demorizi has been launching different sizes of cigars and continues to expand. Although it has its cigars for sale in different establishments in the country, it has an original way of marketing them. It is a weekly offer of five cigars, which he promotes in his networks; customers ask for them and receive them at home.

And after this brief history of the Demorizi cigars, we went on to give you the technical details of this handmade cigar in Tamboril, Santiago, Dominican Republic by master blender Agustín Cabrera.

A su llegada, la Sra. Malena Cejas, administradora del complejo, le acompañó a un recorrido por las instalaciones, tras lo cual se integraron al grupo de selectos invitados.

Los expositores de todo el mundo ofrecen nuevamente a los visitantes profesionales una amplia gama de productos en el 2018. Co-ubicada con InterTabac, la feria mundial más importante de productos de tabaco y accesorios para fumar, InterSupply, que es la feria para la producción de productos de tabaco, tendrá lugar por cuarta vez en el Centro de Exposiciones de Dortmund del 21 al 23 de septiembre de 2018. Exhibitors from around the world offer trade visitors a large product range again in 2018. Co-located with InterTabac, the worldwide flagship trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories, InterSupply, the trade fair for the production of tobacco goods, will take place for the fourth time at the Dortmund Exhibition Centre from 21 to 23 September 2018.
