It’s Not Hard Work, It’s Heart Work! When it comes to making relationships run smoothly, no one displays a greater mastery of what it takes than Vaun Jackson. Most people say that relationships require lots of hard work but Vaun says “it’s not hard work, it’s Heart Work!.” With a complementarity-based relationship philosophy, he’s guided countless couples around the world towards adding the necessary ingredients for letting their hearts do the work! A native of Chicago, Illinois, Vaun is a Master Relationship Strategist & Love Alchemist. He’s a Professional Certified Success Coach, published author and a dynamic professional speaker. Whether in professional or personal life, Vaun provides a customized approach designed specifically for each client’s growth and success. He helps organizations create ethical relationships and establish distinctive guidelines for dealing with employees, managers, clients and sponsors because all have overlapping interests that are sometimes in conflict. In The Beginning... Vaun met his lovely wife, Desiree, for the first time when he was 12 years old. He was new to the neighborhood, and a group of teens were hanging out and singing old-school songs on the playground. He walked up to join them, laid eyes on her & heard her sing, and the rest (as they say) is history. They began dating in high school, got married immediately after graduating and today they celebrate 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 29 years of a marriage that many others look to emulate. But it hasn’t always been sweet... They struggled mightily just to get along with each other in the early years, and even contemplated divorce on several occasions. If it wasn’t for their 4 children, they surely would have gone their separate ways. The incomparable Les Brown once said “life is like a fight for territory and once you stop fighting for what you want, what you don’t want will automatically take over.” They took this statement to heart and kept fighting to make it work by continuing to learn more about themselves and each other. They sought advice from successful elder couples, read books and went to marriage seminars & retreats. Growth is inevitable, but the challenge is to grow together instead of apart. I Am Because We Are! Indian Philosopher, Jiddu Krishnamurti said “the relationship is the greatest classroom for self discovery.” As his knowledge and perspective evolved for the better, Vaun began approaching the marriage very differently. As their efforts continued, momentum shifted in their favor and their marriage grew stronger. It seemed like time flew by, as if suddenly they’d been married 15 years and other couples were asking them for advice on how to keep their marriage and families together. By the time they reached 20 years, they were considered as the “go to” couple for advice and counseling. Other couples began encouraging them to pursue a larger platform so that they could help more people. One thing they’ve learned is that ANY couple can do well if both people put their hearts into it.
