Leadership
Encouraging you to overcome what is holding you back!
What is #BTBY? It is all about you and helping you to become the best version of yourself. Becoming the Best “YOU” you can be: Overcoming challenges is a movement about helping others to overcome their challenges and grab the life they want.
We want you to rule your kingdom. Stop letting fear, doubt, low self-esteem, your past, what others think and more, stop you from becoming the best you can be. So put your crown on and rule your kingdom.
We host events with world thought leaders that teach and guide you on how to change your life. Our website says it all. www.comechangeyourlife.com
We have held several virtual events, live events and now have a TV Talk show about becoming the best you. It is about ordinary people doing extraordinary things. They are stories of hope and encouragement to help you see that you too can have the life you want, if you are willing to make the changes to make it happen.
What is holding you back? The only one that is stopping you is the person looking back at you in the mirror.
I have to thank my wife for coining the term “quiet confidence” in our household. It is a term she often uses when describing my character traits and attributes. Quiet confidence is the ability to believe in what you’re doing without ever displaying it outwardly – you just know it!
More importantly, you’re able to put your money where your mouth (or my case, mind) is. That has probably become my greatest attribute for most of the accomplishments I’ve made in my adult life. I believe in order to be a successful person, a display of quiet confidence is sometimes necessary.
It is very important to turn within to see your vision. Oftentimes this may mean not sharing your beliefs with anyone including your spouse. Now understand that this is a different concept than hiding a secret. This has more to do with limiting the distractions around you, even from those you love most. The outcome still becomes monumental, especially if those same people were supportive from conception to the fruition of your dream.
Overcoming obstacles with quiet confidence Imagine working at your place of employment and your boss thinks he/she knows absolutely everything. It’s quite possible that they are very knowledgeable, having what is commonly referred to as institutional knowledge.
They make it a point to tell you in no uncertain terms that your career will go nowhere fast without their influence. Do you know people like that? Yeah, me too! I’ve worked in many organizations both in the private sector and especially in my military career where this happens all the time.
In the military community, in particular, it is your boss who has the greatest impact on your future success and career growth, right? Wrong! You are your career manager; however, the people in the leadership chain of your organization may become the centers of influence. Your career may or may not prosper. This is where having a great attitude and quiet confidence comes in. So here are some action steps on how to exercise your “quiet confidence”:
Step 1 - Do your research on the specific task at hand.
Step 2 - Know your task inside and out, but don’t be boastful rather in a calm but confident manner, and exercise humility where needed.
Step 3 - Ask the appropriate questions if you are uncertain, but only after you’ve exhausted all other options.
Step 4 - If at all possible, provide your final product before the deadline. My experience has been that under-promising and over-delivering seem to always please leadership.
Step 5 - Refrain from losing your cool. Always maintain your professionalism even if you’re not at fault. Having a negative attitude will only stagnate your development.

A process is a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end. Think about it, human life begins with the fertilization of the embryo at conception. There are life stages of development from that moment forward with the expected end of growing into adulthood. Each stage comes with life expectancies, experiences, growth, and homeostasis processes that are unique and distinct to each individual on earth.
In this life, there will be many trials, troubles, and tribulations. The Bible reminds us in Job 14:1 Man, who is born of woman, is short of days and full of trouble. There are processes each of us must live through, go through, and experience as human beings. Process is that place in the shadows unfolding in the unknown that is deeply felt, where one can’t allow the context of the process to rob you of your significance & confidence.
In this life, things will happen while we take our practice runs at learning, living, loving, and letting go. Being in the process of experience means you will go through learning stages, you will live through and think through a diverse range of things that are good, bad, difficult, challenging, painful, tragic, hard, oppressive, tiresome, the list goes on and on. There are no special outfits for the series of actions and steps that will take you to your next steps, choices, and levels positive or negative.
There is a particular end, place of growth, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding we all must come to. Life doesn’t allow anyone to be loyal to comfortable, life is missional, intentional, and unpredictable, in what it hands down to us to develop us, grow us, and show us that blessings and lessons are poured into our broken pieces. One must NOT abandon hope and go on to self-delusion.
Scripture reminds us in 2 Cor 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Life processes are many and ubiquitous. Meaning present, appearing, or found everywhere in the things we go through and live through as humans. You must face your process head-on with understanding bit by bit, exposing yourself freely to its power that will take you to higher levels of your becoming full of intention.
King David, Joseph, Mary, Naomi, Ruth, Paul, and many more can be found in the bible. There are times when God puts things in our hearts (dreams, aspirations, goals) and He gives them to us right away. There are other times, and this seems to be the majority when God puts things in our hearts and then makes us wait. Often, we can wonder what God is doing. We can begin to ask, “Did I really hear from God?” Or perhaps the biggest question we can ask is, “God, what is taking you so long?”
I have found that during those times of waiting, God prepares us for His promise. During our waiting, He teaches us things. He grows our character, our faith, and our ability to do what we feel called to do. God takes us through a process. The question is:
The wait is over! In Cicone Prince’s highly anticipated 5th book, he shares fundamental principles of Leadership that are a game changer if properly applied to the all important role of Leadership. He makes no apologies for highlighting the importance of equipping the Next Generation with the tools they need to succeed.
Leadership That Lasts will have you running to help someone else prepare for their future while realizing your success.
