Traffic Management Matters
April Edition

Hello, welcome to your April bulletin.
As shared in our recent operational update, there’s a lot happening across the business - from cost control and smarter ways of working to exciting developments in our Urban division. We’re making thoughtful changes to strengthen our position and support long-term sustainability, while continuing to prioritise safety and wellbeing at every level.
For those who’d like to catch up on the operational update, here’s a summary of the information shared last week.
Bringing everyone home safely every day, remains at the heart of our company. Our Health and Safety Climate Survey plays a vital role in helping us strengthen our safety culture across the business. If you haven’t yet had a chance to complete it, you can do so here: Health and Safety Survey 2025.
In other safety news, we’re delighted to have been awarded a Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) President’s Award after receiving a Gold Award for the 14th year in a row. This award is a testament to your hard work and safety focus. Well done!
A big congratulations also goes to Chevron Green Services and Roocroft, who have both been awarded RoSPA Gold Awards for their first submissions. A fantastic achievement for both teams and goes to reinforce
the shared safety mission across all our business units.
We’re continuing to focus on work generation and cost control to ensure our efforts lead to strong, sustainable results. That means reviewing how we operate, what we spend, and where we can improve efficiency.
As part of this, we made the difficult decision to close our Sign Shop in Retford. While it’s been a valued part of our operations, it has struggled to remain profitable, and we need to adapt as the business evolves.
Meanwhile, our Urban Solutions division is growing quickly. We’re currently setting up a new depot in Beccles, Suffolk, to support both LowSpeed and Urban work, an exciting step forward as we expand into new areas.
2025 has been a time of change, but also one of progress and it’s thanks to your hard work and adaptability that we’re continuing to move forward in the right direction. Together we’re building something we can all be proud of.
With best wishes and stay safe
Chris Adams Chief Operating Officer Ramudden Global UK
Last chance to nominate this round! Time’s running out to shine a light on someone who’s gone Above and Beyond. Whether they’ve stepped up in a tough moment, made a real difference to the team, or consistently gone the extra mile, now’s your chance to say thank you.
Nominations close on 30th April, so don’t miss out!
This month, our parent company Chevron Group became Ramudden Global UK
It’s an important rebrand as it brings us in line with our global owners Ramudden Global and ensures consistency with the other regions across the world.
The name change doesn’t affect our individual businesses, so we remain as Chevron Traffic Management.
You might have already seen some changes, with our group policies having been rebranded and email addresses from support functions being updated.
If you have any questions about the rebrand, please email the Marketing team at: brand@RamuddenGlobalUK.com
It’s great to see people making the most of our Volunteering Policy. Earlier this month, Chris Grimes, our Group IMS Auditor (Northern Region) did just that. He spent two days supporting England in the Good Relations Football Cup. Chris filled the crucial positions of transport manager, kit man, assistant coach and strapped up hobbling old timer when players were fatigued!
We wanted to get to know Chris some more, so asked him a few questions… How long have you worked in the Traffic Management industry?
I joined Chevron Traffic Management in 2020, transitioning from 22 years in the British Army.
What are your Traffic Management likes and dislikes?
Likes - the variation of work, being able to work autonomously but also be a part of a team. Dislikes - the amount of travel required to fulfil the role.
What’s one skill you’ve picked up on the job that you never expected to learn?
Understanding why lane closures are so long yet the work area is very small and explaining to friends that they are there for safety reasons. It’s not because the TM company has no where to store them so they just leave them on the road!!! (Yes one of my friends did believe this was true!!!)
What song will you never forget the lyrics to?
Tequila!!!
Interesting fact about you that we don’t already know?
I have 7 (yes seven) children and yes, they are all with the same woman.
If you were a road sign, what would you be and why?
Definitely “diversion”! I always seem to be heading one way then abruptly going in a different direction.
Pineapple on pizza, yes or no?
YES, YES AND YES!
CTM has recently supported a three-month surfacing scheme (A23/M23 Gatwick SCRIM) on the Area 4 SDF contract from Detling depot. The scheme consisted of multiple closures closing down the North and South terminal of Gatwick Airport. The scheme went really well and we had lots of engagement and meetings between all parties involved.
Through the course of the three-month scheme we've had 0 customer complaints and finished on time. We had 766 operatives work on this scheme, for 9192 working hours.
It’s a testament to the Detling team’s hard work and dedication that we received the following feedback from Gatwick Airport:
