Retail stores were created as a place to sell, trade and consume for people of the public. These stores provided a means to find items which you need in order to survive your kind of lifestyle. Nowadays stores still hold the same position but have now have become a popular destination for those wanting to get out of the house no matter if they actually need something for themselves.
In this report it will deconstruct the use of time it takes to shop for in-person shopping. It will discuss where shoppers time is being spent and how it compares to other activites as well as what consumers wish they had more time for.

When it comes to shopping, statistics have proven that the sex that does the most shopping is female. Women through the centuries have always seemed to have the role as the shopper in households, is this because men are too busy or less organized?

The deliverables given show that shopping has been an increasing demand for consumer lifestyle but comes at a cost. Shopping in any form takes vital time out of our day and can prevent you from doing other activites that may or may not be more important.
As designers we must deconstruct issues and produce plans that can help overcome those issues. It’s important to stay on top of current issues so we can be better designers and challenge ourselves.
A way in-person stores can help decrease the amount of time it takes to shop is by designing technology that can reduce wait times or find ways for shoppers to find what they’re needing faster.
