We are grateful for all the leaders in Chandler that serve as great role models. Come to network, be inspired by leaders in our community, and grow your leadership skills. Any business professional can join us, register at chandlerchamber.com.
2. Chandler 100: State of the Business Community – We are grateful for the continual growth and economic prosperity of our Chandler community. A large amount of this success is contributed to the incredible businesses that build our community. On Wednesday, November 30th we will be showcasing the Top 100 companies that shape Chandler. We will be turning an empty vacant office space managed by Douglas Allred into a high-end event venue featuring the Taste of Chandler, entertainment, and networking opportunities that you will not want to miss. Register at chandlerchamber.com to discover, meet and be inspired by these amazing companies who have made Chandler their home.
3. Support Small Business Season by shopping at Chandler Chamber Member Businesses from November 1st until December 31st - Visiting local shops and restaurants and choosing to spend locally gives you the opportunity to network and befriend your neighbors. Making connections with the people that surround you encourages word-of-mouth marketing and creates the unified community that we all dream of belonging to. Small businesses support our community by creating jobs as well as donating to our nonprofits, our youth organizations, and our local events. Together, let’s help them thrive!
How can you support Chandler Chamber member businesses? It’s easy as ABC:
A. Start your shopping early, the holiday is late.
B. Spread the word to family and friends.
C. Share the Chamber small business content on social media and leave positive reviews. Chandler small businesses tie our community together: Our local retail, restaurants, boutiques, and entertainment businesses create a venue for people to gather, relax and make memories. Everything has a story to tell – you get to help tell it.
If you make it a point to shop local and show your support at a Chamber member business at least once a week throughout the year, it will change Chandler. So instead of waiting until Small Business Season to stop by a local retailer, go today to check out and uncover your new favorite places in town! Visit our Relocation Guide at ChandlerChamber.com and look at the business who are making a difference in our community by supporting each other and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce.
Terri Kimble CEOIn November, we are gearing up for the Chandler 100: State of the Business Community which will take place at the end of the month. The Chamber along with the City of Chandler and other dignitaries will recognize large and small employees who have contributed to the economic success of our growing community. The interactive entertainment, decorations, and food from the Taste of Chandler ® restaurants will be top notch as the Chamber staff has been brainstorming creative ways to transform an empty office building into a high-end event venue. I hope that you will join me on November 30th to meet, recognize, and learn about some of the top employers in Chandler!
A thriving local economy drives sales tax revenue which contributes to important initiatives in our community from a strong school district to police & fire protection, our vibrant parks system along with other publicly funded programs. Shopping locally owned small business is an investment in our community!
Speaking of recognizing the great businesses in our community, this is a month for gratitude, not only for the business prosperity we are fortunate to see in Chandler, but our personal lives. On that note, I wish you a warm and happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones, and ask that you share your gratitude to our country’s military veterans as we honor them on November 11, Veterans Day.
BOARDCHAIR CHAMBER NON-PROFITSPOTLIGHT
On Saturday, November 26, I invite you to join me in supporting Small Business Saturday. According to American Express, approximately twothirds of every dollar spent at a small business stays within the community.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything the Chamber or Board can do to help your business thrive!
CeCe’s Hope Center
Cece’s Hope Center was founded in 2017 in remembrance of a survivor who achieved healing in adulthood. CeCe, like many in our program, was a woman who experienced sexual abuse in her childhood and was rescued by the state. She exemplifies our hope for all young woman transitioning into adulthood. After overcoming her many hardships, CeCe founded true success in a career and love in marriage. She lost her life to an unexpected illness in 2016 and we honor her memory, hoping that her story may inspire other girls facing the difficult journey away from trauma. Visit: www. cecescenter.org
FROM THE MAYOR
Chandler Mayor Kevin HartkeVeterans and Giving Thanks
And here we are. Just weeks away from the kickoff of the holiday season, when families will gather, and thanks will be given. Before we begin to spread all that holiday cheer, we’ll have a chance to recognize and thank a very important group in the community – our Chandler veterans.
Veterans Day was originally known as Armistice Day, recognized for the first time by President
Wilson on Nov. 11, 1919, one year after World War I ended. In 1926, Congress passed a resolution commemorating the date. The first festival honoring veterans took place in Birmingham, Alabama in 1947 and President Eisenhower changed the name of the holiday to Veterans Day in 1954. Great Britain, France, Australia and Canada have similar celebrations on or near the same date.
According to recent census data, Chandler is home to close to 13,000 veterans who have served our country from pre- World War II to today. These men and women deserve our gratitude. Here are a few ways we’ll be recognizing them this year for Veterans Day. Please help us spread the word to the veterans you know and those who frequent your businesses.
Military Appreciation Breakfast Nov. 4, 2022, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Chandler Community Center Find information here.
Chandler’s Veterans Day Event Nov. 11, 2022, 7 - 8 p.m. Veterans Oasis Park Find information here.
Airmen of Note Concert - USAF Nov 11, 2022, Fri 7:30 p.m. Chandler Center for the Arts Find information here.
The City of Chandler is, and will always be, committed to connecting veterans to resources. If you know a veteran in need, chandleraz.gov/ veterans is a good place to start.
And if you are a veteran – thank you for your service. The residents of our great city recognize your contributions and your sacrifices for our country. Happy Veterans Day.

Ideas and resources to help the entire family conserve water at home
The average household in the Valley uses up to 120 gallons of water per person per day, and with more time spent at home recently, that amount has likely increased. To help conserve water, SRP has provided water-saving resources and tips for households. Using water wisely is a good starting point, by making sure everyone turns off the faucet while brushing their teeth and lathering hands with soap, only running the dishwasher or washing machine when there is a full load, and keeping showers to 10 minutes or less are all good ways to reduce water use. Furthermore, identifying leaks and ensuring your sprinkler system and pool are functioning properly help conserve water. No matter where you find ways to save water around your house, every little bit counts.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION COMMITTEE
On Saturday, October 27, members of our DE&I committee were hard at work making a difference at the Neighborhood Clean Up Project.
In many workplaces, there could be up to four different generations working together to meet business goals and objectives. Managing these generations may not be as easy as it sounds, each generation holds different experiences, expectations, communication styles, and perspectives. Fostering an environment where these characteristics are recognized and celebrated as strengths is key to diversity and success for businesses.
Attend on November 17 to learn about the different generations, their characteristics, why they are different, and how to manage these differences.
