Community Update

Terri Kimble President | CEO
Chandler is home to some of the most innovative, impactful, and community-driven companies in Arizona. Each year, the Chandler Chamber of Commerce is proud to shine a spotlight on these leaders through our signature Chandler 100 event.
On November 20th at Quantum Helicopters, we will honor the top 100 companies in Chandler whose dedication and success help drive our city forward. This evening is more than recognition—it is a celebration of Chandler’s thriving business community and the partnerships that make it so strong.
Guests will enjoy a Taste of Chandler, with incredible local restaurants serving their best bites, alongside wine and beverage pairings. And because Chandler 100 is always more than a list, you can expect memorable surprises and special touches throughout the night that make this one of our most anticipated annual gatherings.
I invite you to join us as we come together with industry leaders, executives, and community partners to celebrate the companies that make Chandler a place where business and community truly thrive.

Choosing the Right Work Model: Remote, Hybrid,
or In-Office?
By: Linda Qian, Committee Co-Chair

As the workplace evolves, so do approaches to productivity, collaboration, and employee engagement. Whether you’re running a startup or a large organization, choosing the right work model- remote, hybrid, or in-office-can be challenging. At a recent Chandler Chamber Workforce Development and Education event, experts from Bestway USA, Arizona State University, and Grand Canyon University shared insights to help guide your decision.
In-office work supports collaboration, spontaneous communication, and mentorship. It’s especially beneficial for teamwork-heavy environments and for onboarding new employees. Dr. Binil Starly of ASU emphasized the need for leadership and new hires to have an in-person presence to foster cohesion. However, office costs are high, and many workers now expect flexibility.
Remote work offers flexibility, access to broader talent, and reduced overhead-making it especially appealing for small businesses. But it can challenge culture-building, mentorship, and communication. Angela Enoch of Grand Canyon University noted that performance issues should be evaluated carefully, as remote work isn’t always the root cause. Leading with intentionality is key.
Hybrid models blend flexibility with in-person connection. They reduce costs while allowing face-to-face interaction when needed. Holly Nelson of Bestway USA shared that their teams set clear expectations around office days to ensure business needs are met.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Many businesses find hybrid models offer the best balance of flexibility, cost-efficiency, and engagement. Whatever model you choose, success lies in setting clear expectations, investing in the right tools, and listening to your team.

“One Big Beautiful Bill” – What You Need To Know

Signed on July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) Act brings significant changes to federal tax rules, business deductions, and workforce incentives—with direct impact on Chandler’s business community.
Key provisions include the return of immediate expensing for domestic R&D (starting in 2025) and 100% bonus depreciation for qualified property placed in service after January 19, 2025. Section 179 limits rise to $2.5 million, with a $4 million phase-out, indexed for inflation.
The SALT deduction cap increases to $40,000 but phases out for households earning around $500,000+. Business owners using pass-through entities should review their tax strategy.
Workforce benefits expand with a larger childcare credit, permanent exclusion of employer-paid student loan assistance from taxable income, and new tax exclusions for certain tips and overtime (pending IRS guidance).
Startups and investors benefit from enhanced Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) rules: higher asset and gain exclusion limits, plus earlier partial exclusions. Manufacturers can also take advantage of a 100% deduction on qualifying production property through 2030.
With so many changes, the Chandler Chamber of Commerce urges local businesses to reassess tax planning, payroll systems, and employee benefits now—before the new rules fully take effect.
Strengthening Chandler’s Workforce Through Partnership

By: Mayor Kevin Hartke
One of Chandler’s greatest strengths is a highly skilled workforce that has fueled our success as a hub for advanced manufacturing, aerospace, technology and small business innovation. But as every business owner knows, the labor market is constantly shifting. Layoffs, closures or changes in demand can create sudden challenges for both workers and employers.
That’s why we launched the Chandler Career Center, an innovative platform designed to connect local talent with Chandler-based opportunities. Housed at chandlercareercenter.com, the platform provides job seekers with a direct link to local openings, training resources and career pathways. Just as importantly, it helps Chandler employers of all sizes find qualified candidates ready to contribute.
When a large employer experiences layoffs, our Economic Development team responds quickly to work with the company’s human resources team, Arizona@Work and the Maricopa County Rapid Response Team to connect impacted employees to opportunities on the Chandler Career Center. We often create targeted job blogs highlighting local openings in the same industries and skill sets, ensuring that displaced workers transition more smoothly into new opportunities.
We’ve seen this model succeed with companies like Intel, Northrop Grumman and the GM Innovation Center, where Chandler’s Economic Development team partnered to provide affected employees with career assistance, job fairs and customized resources. By keeping talent in our region, we help workers and support local businesses that are looking to grow.
For small and medium-sized employers, the Chandler Career Center is a powerful tool. The platform is free to use and designed to amplify their local opportunities. Employers can post jobs, connect with job seekers and even participate in city-hosted hiring events. Partnerships with the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Chandler Unified School District also produces a strong pipeline of students and workers with skills that match industry needs.
That’s a win-win for our business community. Workers get the support they need during transitions, and businesses gain access to talent that might otherwise slip through the cracks. I encourage you to explore the Chandler Career Center and consider how your business can take advantage of this resource. Together, we can ensure Chandler remains a place where both businesses and residents thrive.
Sidebar: How the Chandler Career Center Can Help Your Business
Post Jobs for Free – Quickly connect with qualified local candidates through the Chandler Career Center platform.
Tap Into Talent – Access workers impacted by recent layoffs and career changers looking for opportunities in Chandler.
Join Hiring Events – Participate in city- and partner-hosted job fairs and outreach programs to showcase your business.
