Threat The Old Bailey heard a victim impact statement from Rosie Cooper in which she described the threat as “something out of a horror movie.” Det. Con. Henderson had been investigating Renshaw for grooming young boys for sex. He was given a concurrent sentence of seven years’ jail for this. Life sentence for man who plotted to kill Rosie Cooper NEO-Nazi Jack Renshaw who plotted to kill West Lancs MP Rosie Cooper has been jailed for life and must serve a minimum term of 20 years. The 23-year-old from Skelmersdale who admitted preparing an act of terror was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Friday, May 17. In June last year, Renshaw pleaded guilty to planning to kill Ms Cooper and making threats to kill police officer Detective Constable Victoria Henderson. After he was sentenced, Renshaw made a Nazi salute to supporters. Renshaw had bought a 19-inch (48cm) Gladius knife to murder the MP and told members of the banned neo-Nazi group National Action about his plan during a meeting in a Warrington pub in July 2017. But the plot was foiled by whistleblower and former National Action member, Robbie Mullen, who was secretly passing information to anti-racism charity Hope not Hate, which in turn informed police.

months jail term for grooming two underage boys online. A jury has twice been unable to come to a verdict on charges that Renshaw was a member of National Action. Sentencing Renshaw, Mrs Justice McGowan believed his wish was to “replicate” the murder of Batley MP Jo Cox and said: “Your perverted view of history and current politics has caused you to believe it right to demonise groups simply because they are different from you. “This is a case in which only a sentence of life imprisonment can meet the appalling seriousness of your offending.” Following the sentencing Rosie Cooper said: “My deepest wish is that this case is the last occasion when any public servant, any politician, has their life threatened for simply doing their job. “I believe today justice has been served. Not for me personally, but for every MP and public servant, and for our democratic way of life which affords us the privilege of free speech, without fear of violent retribution. Continued on Page 3.
