Event will raise funds for project which aims to give joy to children THERE are only a few tickets left for a special dinner this weekend to raise money for a charity foundation which aims to bring the ‘joy of Christmas’ to thousands of children. Former firefighter Paul Lally, 44, and his wife Victoria, 38, from Formby, officially launched their Christmas Foundation last year with a special event at Liverpool Town Hall, which provided a full day of Christmas party-themed fun for 500-1,000 children. The second annual event will be held at Liverpool Football Club on December 8 and includes a visit from Santa, free toys, children’s activities, entertainment and food and drinks all day. Tickets, which cost £45, are still available for the threecourse lunch which is being held from noon-5pm at Veronica's Cafe and Bar on Lord Street in Southport this Friday (November 9) to raise funds for the special event. It includes a singer, entertainment and raffle prize. To buy tickets, call 0151 472 6965 or email info@thechristmasfoundation.co.uk.

Taking place at London’s Olympia on November 14 and November 15, it invites delegates to attend presentations and workshops on a variety of topics, such as the childhood obesity strategy, type two diabetes reversal and diabetes burnouts.
