It’s game on for Phil!
Phil Todd wants to take his new family game show on a nationwide tour
QUIZ host and children’s entertainer Phil Todd, is putting the ‘heartache’ of a failed romance in Fernando well and truly behind him - by launching his own family game show in his home town of Southport! Phil appeared on TV’s dating show Take Me Out earlier this year when he got to go on a date to the fictional love island. Sadly, Fernando (which is actually in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife) proved to be an unlucky hunting ground for him and his date with contestant Bella failed to ignite! But Phil has now launched ‘Fun-
damental, It's a Game Show!’ which was staged for the first time at the Settle Inn, Botanic Gardens in March. He now hopes to take the show on a nationwide tour. He told the Champion: “I want to provide an event where the whole family have fun together with quick fire quiz questions on subjects the children love like Harry Potter, Fortnite and Disney, hilarious challenges, and a fun party atmosphere. “I wanted the children of Southport to see the show first before we take it all over the country.

SEASIDE towns have been ‘neglected for too long’ according to the authors of a new report. The Future of Seaside Towns was released by a House of Lords select committee last week and flagged up a number of concerns facing coastal communities. Among the challenges, says the report, is better access to further education for young people, as this is ‘severely curtailing opportunities and denting aspirations for young people in some coastal areas’. Other pressing issues raised were transport, housing and improved broadband, although not all are directed at any one coastal town. The report suggests that the challenges of peripherality can be overcome by improving digital connectivity and that the government should engage with local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and businesses so provisions such as high-speed broadband, can be delivered.
