WE’VE GOT OUR MINIBUS - NOW FOR OUR ADULTS PLAYGROUND! Report by Danielle Thompson THE Friends of St Joseph’s have at last been able to unveil their new £40,000 minibus – and are now setting their sights on a new unique fundraising project... a playground for disabled adults. The group, which provides support for St Joseph’s Adult Services and Fernley Resource Centre on Blundell Avenue in Formby, raised the five-figure sum for their minibus during a three-year campaign which included summer fetes, quizzes, raffles and bingo events. St Joseph’s is made up of three homes and a day centre which cares for 60 people, and also offers short-term respite care, so needs two minibuses. The new specially adapted Renault Master has two lifts for wheelchairs, one at the side and one at the back, tinted glass and will hold four wheelchairs. Cont. inside
