Organisers blame poor ticket sales for abandoning showpiece event Report by Danielle Thompson
Bongo's Bingo was due to be held at the festival
FORMBY’S controversial L37 Festival has been cancelled - just weeks before it was due to take place. Event organisers blamed the decision on ‘failing to sell enough tickets’. They have promised disappointed ticket holders a full refund although they insist the festival could still be held in the future, at a ‘later date’ but ruled out this year. Earlier this month, L37 Festival announced
an exciting line-up for the three day event, which was due to run from Friday, July 12 to Sunday July 14 at Orrell Hill Woods, off the Formby Bypass. Acts signed up to appear included popular bands, The Feeling, Scouting for Girls and S Club. Saturday would have been headlined by the The Feeling, while Scouting For Girls would have officially closed the event on Sunday evening. Bongo’s Bingo, which boasts a huge following, and S Club had been confirmed for the Friday night. Continued inside
