Backpacker arrested after he sprayed his name on wall of historic landmark Report by Tom Martin A MAN from Crosby faces being sent to prison in Thailand after being accused of spray painting his name onto the wall of an 800 year-old landmark while on a backpacking holiday in the country. Lee Furlong, 23, is alleged to have used a can of black spray paint to write ‘Scouser Lee’ on a wall of the historic Tha Phae Gate, in the city Chiang Mai. The incident happened at around 4am on Thursday, October 18 and CCTV from a nearby cafe shows four people approach the wall before two of the group use the spray paint to add graffiti to the wall. The gate is part of a historic fortress wall that forms a square around Chiang Mai's inner city, and parts of the building date back to the 13th century.
