VILLAGE REVAMP VISION ‘TAKING SHAPE’ AS MORE TENANTS SET TO MOVE IN Regeneration firm is closing in on ‘full house’ after two more units filled

Apar tment block plans unveiled

Report by Tom Martin PLANS to breathe fresh life into Crosby Village have moved a step closer with only two of the new shop units now vacant after a vets and a non-surgical treatment business confirmed they would be moving onto the high street. Bosses at regeneration firm St Modwen’s say their long-term vision to revitalise the Village is starting to take shape after they confirmed only two of the refurbished Glenn Buildings stores are now unoccupied, along with an empty function space and an office unit. It comes after two more businesses announced they would be moving to the Village to join the likes of clothing shop Peacocks in taking on one of the new shopping units. The first is Village Vets Formby, who revealed they have signed a ten-year lease to take over the 3,830 sq ft first floor unit at 10 Moor Lane, which is due to open in November, and the second is The Aesthetics Hub, which specialises in non-surgical treatments, which will move into a new premises in Glenn Buildings South. Kate Higgins, principal vet and owner of Village Vets Crosby, said: “This is extremely exciting for us. “We have been looking for the right premises to locate our second practice for some time and the newly refurbished units within the Glenn Buildings provides a perfect base for us. “Being in the centre of Crosby with excellent parking is ideal for our customers. We are a local independent business and enjoy being a part of the community where we are based in Formby. “We look forward to also becoming part of the com-

munity in Crosby while serving the needs of our new and existing customers. “We’re already taking pre-registrations and will be keeping people up-to-date as the building progresses via our website and social media.” The Aesthetics Hub is run by independent nurse prescriber Abbey McLaughlin, and the new medical aesthetics clinic is relocating from Waterloo and will be situated above the Card Factory. Abbey said: “We are very excited about this expansion. Crosby Village is the perfect location for the business and we are delighted to have secured a longterm lease.” The relocation to Crosby Village marks a big investment for the company. The expansion will include

three treatment rooms where a plethora of competitively-priced non-surgical treatments will be carried out. Treatments include wrinkle-reducing injections, lip enhancement, dermal fillers, eye rejuvenation, medical grade skin care, peels and facials. Andrew Day, asset manager at St Modwen who are behind the redevelopment, said: “We are pleased to see that the investment St Modwen has made in Crosby continues to revitalise the centre and bring a range of new occupiers to the village centre. “The high quality of the retail units and office space has proved popular with occupiers. With only two units remaining, a function space and an office unit, we are confident that the available space will all soon be let.”
