Fun day in memory of Jon raised £5,000 for charities A FAMILY in Crosby who organised a fun day in memory of their son have raised more than £5,000 for charity. The event was held to remember the life of Jon Coward, who passed away five years ago, and also to raise money for charities Winston’s Wish and Starlight Children's Foundation. It was held in Crosby Village with an outdoor fun day before an evening event inside Blues Bar, with hundreds of people attending to show their support. Jon Coward. Jon's mum, Lin Coward, said: “The event was an overwhelming success! “We raised more than £5,000 and well over 200 people attended the evening event. “We are so grateful for all the raffle prizes donated by local businesses and everyone who helped on the day, including Blues Bar for venue and food. “We’d especially like to thank them for the support of all our family, friends and the wider community. “We remembered Jon in such an amazing way.”
