Bailey who was killed in the dog attack

Police make appeal after ‘appalling’ attack on dog and owner POLICE are appealing for information following the horrific dog attack in Netherton last week which left a Cockapoo puppy dead and its owner injured. The Champion reported how one-year-old Bailey was killed by three bull terriers in Pinfold Woods and his owner, Julie Huyton, 38, was left needing plastic surgery treatment to an injured finger. Merseyside Police, who have described the attack as ‘appalling’, have launched an investigation and hope to find two men who were with the bull terriers at the time of the attack. Both men are believed to be in their late 20s. Inspector Susan Stribling of Merseyside Police, said: “This was an appalling attack which has tragically left a dog dead and a woman requiring surgery. We are keen to speak to the men involved at the earliest possible opportunity, and any witnesses who may have seen the incident or these dogs in the park on previous occasions. “I want to emphasise that anyone walking their dog in our local parks needs to be mindful of their dogs’ behaviour at all times and keep their pet on a lead if it is liable to be aggressive towards other park users.
