MAN WITH CANCER IN BATTLE FOR WIFE TO TO STAY IN COUNTRY ‘Murshida is caring for me during my treatment and if she has to go back to America my world will be destroyed’
EVERTON manager Carlo Ancelotti has already endeared himself to Blues fans and now he is seemingly taking in the local amenities in south Sefton after he was spotted in the Strand Shopping Centre! The Italian was in the Bootle shopping centre last week when it prompted a surge of Everton fans to ask for selfie pictures. Speaking to Jamie Carragher in his Telegraph column, Ancelotti said the Strand is “difficult to park, but full of Evertonians!” Since he arrived in Merseyside last December, Ancelloti has been living in Crosby, and he has revealed how he is a big fan of Sir Antony Gormley’s Iron Men statues on Crosby beach. He also talked about how he prefers the area to London, and how he has already found a “good Italian restaurant.” He said: “I was at the beach on Monday. It is beautiful. “I walked three miles and counted all the statues. There are at least 100. “This part of England is different to London. It is more friendly. “London is more cosmopolitan–there are a lot of Italians in London. Usually I stay in the centre of the city but I feel good here, and I have already found a good Italian restaurant.”

A MAN from Bootle who was diagnosed with cancer last November is fighting to keep his American wife in the country so she can care for him during treatment. Kane Grosvenor, 28, met Murshida, 25, from Virginia, when they were both studying at Liverpool Hope University four years ago and since then they have been travelling between the two countries to spend time together. They got married in March 2019 and the plan was for Kane, who worked at Santander, to move to the States to live with Murshida on a permanent basis. However, Kane discovered a rash on his chest and in December last year he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and his health has quickly deteriorated. He also suffers from a chronic pain condition known as fibromyalgia, so his condition means he is unable to travel to America. Murshida has travelled back to
Netherton to care for him, but her current six-month visa is due to expire and they are now desperately seeking legal advice to see if she can get a Spousal Visa to be able to remain in the UK for the next three years. Kane told the Champion: “My wife does everything for me from making me food to taking me to appointments. “I have radiation therapy and she helps me with that. She’s my rock and if she leaves, my world would be destroyed. “She has been shunned from her family for marrying outside her faith so she would be homeless if she went back to America. There is nothing for her there. “My uncle is able to be her visa sponsor. Murshida studied psychology and her dream is to help people and children who have been abused which she could do here when I get better.” To add to the stress, the couple have been told legal fees could rise to more than £10,000 unless they can be waived, but even then a visa application would cost £1,500. He said: “I thought because she was my wife she would have rights to stay in the country but this isn’t the case. “It’s very expensive to apply for visas and we need to go through immigration lawyers who say it could cost £10,000.
