Jamie shows off a shirt worn by Roma legend Francesco Totti
Carra auctions shirts for charity JAMIE Carragher has swapped shirts with some of the most iconic players in world football during his 737 match career with the Reds – and now he is auctioning his entire collection for charity. The former Liverpool defender has faced some iconic stars on the football pitch for both club and country, which has seen him collect an impressive number of jerseys from opposition players. He has now teamed up with Kit It Out and through his own charity the 23 Foundation, each shirt will be signed and auctioned. A spokesperson for Kit It Out said: “It is unbelievable news. Thanks so much to Jamie Carragher for signing and donating all the shirts he has swapped with players throughout his career. All money raised will be split between us and the 23 Foundation.” Kit It Out is a Liverpool based project which aims to provide football kits that are no longer used to families who may not otherwise have the means to provide kits to their children.
FAMILY TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHARITY IN MEMORY OF BELOVED JENNIFER ‘She was born with cystic fibrosis but was never a victim to it and was the bravest, kindest, most caring person I have ever met’ Report by Tom Martin A FAMILY from Bootle will use the memory of their beloved relative who passed away last month to raise money for charity. Jennifer O’Mahony, 34, died on February 5 after a long fight against cystic fibrosis, which is a hereditary disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Despite the lifelong condition, her family told the Champion it never affected her positive outlook and Jennifer would never tell anyone about her cystic fibrosis “because she didn’t want to be defined by her illness.” Since the actress passed away, her family have raised more than £1,750 for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust - but they want to continue with the aim of smashing a £5,000 target. Jennifer ’s sister, Kelly Ramsay, said: “Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition, so she was born

person I've ever met. “She was honestly the most beautiful person inside and out and anyone who knew her would tell you that. “She never told many people about her condition because she didn't want to be defined by her illness. She passed away on February 5 so it's all still raw to us and I need to keep myself busy because if I don't then I'll fall apart. “I thought it would be amazing to raise funds to donate to cystic fibrosis research and hopefully together we can find a cure. It was too late for us but there are thousands of children and young adults who are fighting to survive.” Since embarking on a fundraising mission, Kelly has raised more than £1,750 from a GoFundMe website and her husband Shaun Ramsay will take on the Great North Run to boost this ongoing fundraising figure. They will also organise a family fun day at Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School, in Ford, on Saturday, August 1 with lots of entertainment and children’s activities. Kelly added: “I'm hoping to raise £5,000 all together so that we can buy the cystic fibrosis ward at Alder Hey a load of PlayStations or Xboxes or whatever else the kids would like. I'm trying to make their stay a bit better for them.” To donate to Kelly’s fundraiser, visit the website: www.gofundme.com and search for ‘Kelly Ramsay ’.
