BM Steel, Aberdeen Maximise Energy Savings with CEMA Lighting LED

Barclay & Mathieson (BM Steel) has over 145 years’ experience as steel stockholders in the UK; they operate from 15 locations around the country.
THE CHALLENGE
The customer had the following challenges at their site:
• Multiple failures on existing inefficient lighting system
• Health and safety of employees due to poor lighting
• Global energy costs increasing
• Very restricted access to current lighting system making replacements difficult
THE SOLUTION
After a full on-site lighting consultation our knowledgeable consultant made recommendations that would improve and maximise the energy efficiency for lighting on the site whilst increasing light levels to 300 LUX as recommended by CIBSE for warehouse areas. To achieve this our in-house installation team installed CEMA Lighting’s 200 lumens per watt efficiency Super High-Output IP65 Circular HighBay. This exclusive luminaire provides a brighter, whiter light source making for a more uniformly lit, safer working environment.
THE RESULT
BM Steel are now benefiting from brighter, more uniform lighting across their site vastly improving safety and wellbeing for their employees. The new cash positive LED

lighting solution saves BM Steel, Aberdeen over £10,000 annually on their lighting energy bills and dramatically reduces the company’s green house emissions by 17.32 tonnes of CO2 per year the equivalent to planting 102 trees.
The benefits continue beyond the initial installation with the long lifespan of CEMA Lighting LED luminaires and the peace of mind that comes with our market-leading warranty. This includes 5 years ‘Fit & Forget’ and a further 3 years product replacement. The maintenance free, future-proof lighting leaves the business to focus on more important things and their day-to-day operations.
