THE CHALLENGE
The main objectives of the project at Amari Plastics, Leeds was to upgrade their out-dated lighting system consisting mainly of inefficient traditional fluorescent linear fittings to a modern energy-efficient LED lighting system improving the light levels across their site whilst also reducing their lighting energy costs.
THE SOLUTION
After conducting a thorough evaluation of Amari Plastics’ current lighting a number of issues were identified.
CEMA Lighting’s knowledgeable consultant proposed a comprehensive plan to address the situation. Our lighting consultant recommended a scheme of works that would effectively overcome these challenges.
As the ban on fluorescent tubes approaches in 2023, our in-house CEMA Installations team stepped in to implement the new lighting scheme, utilising our exclusive 200+ Super High-Output HighBay in the main warehouse and saw areas. The installation of sensors has
also enabled Amari Plastics to benefit from increased energy savings.
Additionally, the team installed CEMA Lighting’s highefficiency LED Linear Battens in the kitchen, back store, and corridor areas, providing bright and clear illumination throughout the site

The project has resulted in a positive outcome with a quick return on investment. By transitioning to a CEMA Lighting LED installation, the company now enjoys improved health, safety, and wellbeing for its employees due to significantly enhanced light levels across the workspaces. Moreover, the lighting energy consumption has been reduced by 54%, resulting in a 4.33-tonne decrease in CO2 emissions, minimising the company’s environmental impact.
