Mooring: When mooring, follow the pilot’s directions and the orders of port officials. Once moored, the captain is entirely responsible for his ship’s behaviour at the quay. Strong wind warnings are distributed to ships by port officials and captains must take all necessary precautions. At times the swell caused by SE winds enters the basin. This swell can also appear without a wind at the start of bad weather. A careful watch on moorings and gangways must be maintained at all times during the stay in port. At the quay: Ships must leave the quay as soon as their commercial operations are completed, unless they have specific authorisation from the Harbour Master’s Office to remain. Sufficient crew must remain on board to carry out any required manoeuvres without delay. The use of lifeboats or tenders is forbidden without authorisation from the HMO. In accordance with the ISPS Code, access to the ship must be strictly controlled. All maintenance or repair work is subject to a request for authorisation from the HMO. Ships must leave the quay clean on departure.
