DROYLSDEN FC - PLAYER PROFILES
Dave Pace – Chairman/Manager
His association with the club stretches back to the early nineties where he played for the clubs youth team in the Lancashire league. As a player he had spells abroad with Dallas Tornados and Olympiakos before returning to England and taking a keen interest in Droylsden, a club his father watched from the terraces. He has been chairman of the club since 1993/94 and after a succession of managers, he took over as manager in 1998 when the club was in the Unibond 1st division. Since then he has won the Unibond 1st division, Unibond Presidents Cup, the Peter Swales Challenge Shield and the Manchester Premier Cup a number of times. After a heartbreaking play off final defeat in 2005/06 against Stafford he won the Conference North title in 2006/07 to take the club to its highest level of non league football for the first time in its history. Although disappointingly we were relegated after only one season it will always be looked upon as a great achievement.
Aeon Lattie - Assistant Manager/Player
alike, a big man with a big heart for the game.
Nathan Haynes (11/01/96 - Midfield)
Signed from Congleton Town in the close season, Nathan impressed the management with his skills and commitment in the run up to the new season, quality midfield player who can both win the ball and set play up, good distribution.
Fernando Moke (10/11/88 – Midfield)
Fernando has re signed again this year for the bloods, his attacking play and exciting skills on the ball are the epitome of what football should be like here at the Butchers Arms, is a real crowd favourite and provides good width for the team.
Andrew Langford (12/07/88 - Defender)
Andy joins us this season from Congleton Town but is no stranger to the Butchers Arms having played here in the past and he is a welcome addition to the team, a stalwart defender who can read the game well and seems to be in the right place at the right time, good with the ball at his feet and not afraid of a tackle.
A player and manager who seems to have been at Droylsden forever, a stalwart defender for the club for many years making his return this season whilst continuing with the management side of things, he is part of the fabric of the club and has formed a successful partnership with Dave lasting many years.
Ben McNamara (Defender)
Alan Cross - Physio
Christopher Middleton (16/02/89 – Defender)
Crossy has been with the club for many years and has proved to be an valued member of staff, always good with the banter so as well as being a skilful professional so can also maintain players spirits when they need it most.
Ged Murphy – Player/Coach
Ged is no stranger to the club and he re-joins us from Prescot Cables as a player and coach. A right sided midfielder or defender he is a great motivator and strong character with a good knowledge of the game.
Jim Vince – Coach
Jim is a very knowledgeable coach who has experience at the Crewe football academy and was at Congleton Town, he has become an asset to the club and his input both in training and on match days is very much welcomed, good with players and staff
Another who has put pen to paper with us for the new campaign after a decent season last time, a no nonsense defender who got better as the season progressed, was a baptism of fire last year but gained some good experience and it will stand him in good stead for this campaign. New signing from his last club, Congleton Town, Chris is a solid defender with a good head on his shoulders, can read the game well and should prove to be a good addition to the squad.
George Bower (11/11/90 - Full back)
New signing in the close season from Ramsbottom, played well in the pre season friendly games and in training, is a versatile right back who is good on the ball and likes to get forward.
Stephen Hall (14/02/89 - Midfield)
Re joined the Bloods from Witton Albion last season has always been a firm favourite with the fans and is a welcome addition to the squad, great midfielder and has already proved he has an eye for a goal, now has the experience as well as the quality.
