2024
As 2024 draws to a close, I look back at the progress the club has made with great pride and I’m filled with excitement at the plans that are in the pipeline for 2025.
This season saw the successful launch of our own U18’s side, competing in the Garforth Ladies League, Led by Martin Howlitson, Jed Perry and Michael Richardson.
The girls have started life well at Knaresborough Town and they have competed admirably in the Under 18’s league so far.
The under 18’s team provides player’s with a pathway to the Knaresborough Town Women’s first team and in the first four months, no fewer than four of our U18’s side have made first team debuts in the West Riding Division One League.
Our first team are playing at there highest level to date and are thriving under the challenge of the new level.
The team are still in both cup competitions as we head in to 2025, and we are currently occupying a promotion position in the league campaign which has so far, only registered one defeat against current leaders, Thackley.
On the squad front, we have concentrated on the integration of the U18’s and added a couple of quality players to the existing squad. With the additions of Maria Chatzistamou, Lauren Macleod and Ellis Baxter, the squad has improved and are looking to go from strength to strength, game by game.
And it promises to be an exciting finish to the current campaign in May.
On a personal level, this is the best squad we have had at Knaresborough, myself, James’s and Scott are proud of what has been accomplished so far, but it’s only another chapter that we are writing, we can only ask that the squad continue to apply themselves 100 percent and never regret any actions when the final whistle is blown, we simply don’t lose, we learn!!
