Harrogate Railway’s first away league fixture of 2015/16 sees Lee Ashforth’s side travel to The Brewery Field to take on Spennymoor Town. The last time the two sides met Railway came away with an impressive 3-1 win, and in doing so became one of only three sides to leave Brewery Field last season with a league victory. Only promoted Darlington and Salford recorded fewer losses at home than Spennymoor last season, ensuring Railway will face a tough contest.

Spennymoor Manager Jason Ainsley’s pre-season campaign ended impressively with wins over Tadcaster Albion and Darlington 1883. The latter were comfortably dispatched 3-0 in the final warm-up game thanks to goals from Danny Frost, Glen Taylor and Shane Henry, who are all likely to feature against Railway on Tuesday night.

Spennymoor take on runaway North-West Counties League winners Glossop North End in their season opener today and will be looking to improve on last season’s 5th placed finish. After Spennymoor, Harrogate Railway travel to St. Giles Road where Brighouse Town FC will be Railway’s third opponents of the 2015/16 campaign. Having secured promotion the year before, Brighouse Town finished 14th in their first season in the Northern Premier League Division One North in what was a solid first campaign. Lee Ashforth’s side came out on top the last time the two sides met, however, triumphing 4-1 at St. Giles Road last December.

Manager Paul Quinn will be looking to continue a sequence of four straight pre-season wins in league matches against Trafford and Ossett Town before Railway arrive in West Yorkshire. Despite recent wins over Basford United,

AFC Emley, Ashton United and Huddersfield Town AFC, a 4-2 pre-season loss to

Yorkshire Amateur will be cause for concern for Brighouse fans. The St. Giles Road faithful will now be hoping star striker Tom Matthews can breach the Railway defence come next Saturday.
