Droylsden Player Profiles

Dave Pace – Chairman/Manager His association with the club stretches back to the early nineties where he played for the clubs youth team in the Lancashire league. As a player he had spells abroad with Dallas Tornados and Olympiakos before returning to England and taking a keen interest in Droylsden, a club his father watched from the terraces.

He has been chairman of the club since 1993/94 and after a succession of managers, he took over as manager in 1998 when the club was in the Unibond 1st division. Since then he has won the Unibond 1st division, Unibond Presidents Cup, the Peter Swales Challenge Shield and the Manchester Premier Cup a number of times. After a heartbreaking play off final defeat in 2005/06 against Stafford he won the Conference North title in 2006/07 to take the club to its highest level of non league football for the first time in its history. Although disappointingly we were relegated after only one season it will always be looked upon as a great achievement.
