Welcome back Allan Thompson ‘11 who was hired as the new varsity football coach. On the heels of announcing the addition of Athletic Director Denny Shoemaker, Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Tim Yenrick ‘81 and Strength and Conditioning Coach Craig Heuring ‘04, the hiring of Coach Thompson continues the restructure of Stritch Athletics. Coach Thompson joins the football program with experience as a head varsity football coach for Woodward High School, assistant varsity football coach for Waite High School, and assistant varsity football coach for his alma mater, Cardinal Stritch, in 2017. “I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to return to a program that has meant so much to me; in the past as a player, and now as a coach.” The 2023 season is completely scheduled and Coach Thompson continues to revitalize the varsity football program as they return to play this fall.

New this year is our World Language immersion program, where students (grades 7-12) self-select from 25 global languages to study. Stop in for a demonstration and try the program. The Cardinal Stritch Finance Department will also be available to share the many Cardinal Stritch scholarship and tuition assistance opportunities available. We seek to partner with all families who desire the high level of education offered here. That is why 95% of our Cardinal Stritch students receive tuition assistance.
Enjoy an evening of excitement complete with racing, betting, derby hats, food, cash bar, raffles, and more; all benefiting student scholarships. Ten pre-recorded races, featuring ten horses per race, will be shown on a large screen. Be an “Owner” of your very own thoroughbred and name her/him! Owners of the winning horses will receive a prize and ultimate bragging rights. Nine races (90 horses) will be sold prior to the event. There is no limit on how many horses you may purchase. Horses for the 10th race will be auctioned during the event.
You are not going to want to miss this event! Dress is casual and all derby style hats are encouraged! Register at cardinalstritch.org/ horserace/ or contact the Director of the Office of Advancement, Janet Navarre Hohenberger ‘07, at jhohenberger@cardinalstritch.org or at 419. 693. 0465 x216.
