ALL Ohio families are NOW eligible to apply, and receive, state tuition scholarships with two different options, the Educational Choice (EdChoice) Traditional Scholarship and the Educational Choice (EdChoice) Expansion Scholarship, no matter what district they live in and no matter what income level?

All Ohio residents, whose family’s household adjusted gross income is at, or below, 450% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) (approximately $140,400 per year, for a family of four) will be eligible for a state scholarship of $6,165 for grades K-8 and $8,407 for grades 9-12.

Families whose household adjusted gross income is at, or above, 451% FPL are eligible for a percentage of the full scholarship amount. Sunday, March 3 12-2 PM Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy is hosting an Open House on Sunday, March 3, from 12 - 2 PM for families interested in all grades preschool - 12! Visit our campus and meet our students, faculty, and staff. We invite you on a private tour to inquire about our academic coursework, college credit options (especially our expanding partnership with Mercy College of Ohio), campus ministry, fine and performing arts, athletics, clubs, and more.

Ask about our five-day a week preschool program, our grades K - 2 personalized learning groups, and academy integrated learning field trip experiences.

I

n the past, we have spoken of transitions at Stritch. Today, I am pleased to announce the many additions we have made, or been made available, to our families. From the approval of state scholarship eligibility and donation tax credits available to ALL Ohio families, to the additions of academic programming, we continue to be THE strong choice in Catholic education in Greater Toledo.

All Ohio families are now eligible to apply for tuition scholarships, no matter their income or the district they reside in.

That’s right, all Ohio families are eligible to apply. In July of 2023, Ohio’s biennial budget was approved to include the expansion of the EdChoice Scholarship program that made ALL families in Ohio eligible to apply for tuition scholarships.

In addition to that announcement, Cardinal Stritch has partnered with Every Child Every Family who is a certified Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) with the state of Ohio.

This partnership allows you to qualify for an Ohio income tax credit. Instead of paying your 2023 tax liability to the state, you can direct it into a donation, designated to Cardinal Stritch, through Every Child Every Family, for student scholarships.

We continue to add College Credit Plus coursework and pathways to our curriculum catalog offered to students grades 7-12. Our Mercy College of Ohio partnership is well under way with students actively studying coursework in applied health sciences along with their regular state mandated high school curriculum.

What if you could donate to student scholarships at Cardinal Stritch without it costing you any additional money?

YOU CAN! Beginning January 2024, under an Ohio Tax Credit Program, donations up to $750 (individual) or $1,500 (married filed jointly) to an Ohio Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) may qualify for a TAX CREDIT on the donor’s Ohio tax return. Remember, the credit is a dollar-for-dollar amount that reduces taxes owed to the State of Ohio, compared to a tax deduction which reduces a taxpayer’s overall taxable income.

We are happy to announce that you may now make a donation designated for Cardinal Stritch, through our SGO partner and 501(c)(3), Every Child Every Family, to receive a dollar-for-dollar state of Ohio income tax credit!

Donate through our SGO partner Every Child Every Family, designating Cardinal Stritch as the recipient before April 15, 2024.

Every Child Every Family will send you, the donor, a tax receipt while also alerting Cardinal Stritch of the generous gift.

Cardinal Stritch will then receive the funds from Every Child Every Family to award student tuition scholarships. Specific tax questions should be directed to your personal tax advisor.

Next fall, new classes, and the ability to study these classes on the Mercy College campus, are being planned as well as our new pathways we are looking to introduce with Owens Community College and Lourdes University. Both programs allow our students to graduate with not only their high school diploma, but college credits, or certifications, to move forward into secondary education or career pathways.
